What This Failure Taught Me.

in #hive-110602 months ago

Life is filled with various things we can learn from everyday. If an opportunity passes me by, I don’t feel bad. I see it as another form of education and I never take such chances again.
Even when I don’t fail, there is always something to learn from my attitude to winning. So when we fail, we should not feel too sad or beat ourselves up, there is always another time to do better and if you want to do better the next time, you gotta make sure that you learn from your previous mistakes so you can correct it when trying again.

There is no perfect person and even if you are close to being perfect, there are still so many times that you have failed which means that failure is inevitable.
I’d love to share with you all a time I failed and the important lesson I learned from it.

After I graduated from the university, I decided to go study more in a film academy before I go for NYSC. When I got there, I went for “Acting for film” course and my teachers spotted me to be a very good actress right from the onset. I was not just good with acting but I could cram lines and never forget them. It’s the joy of a director to have actors who always remember their so things won’t be stressful for them.

If they ever need any student from the school to go for a professional acting and get paid, I was always summoned and that’s to show you how good I was.
One day, we were informed about an audition coming up soon for a big movie and the audition will hold in our school. I was so confident and didn’t even bother myself to make any form of rehearsal since I felt I was good enough or the best.
On that day, I went to the front of the judges and I was still being playful and overconfident since I was the best in the game. A few days later, they called for another girl entirely from my class to come for the role. I was shocked because I didn’t get called and even my lecturers were wondering why. I felt bad because it could have been the biggest movie I have featured in even though I have featured in others but it’s never too much.

I began thinking of why I didn’t get picked and I realized that I was being overconfident and just went to mess myself up in the front of the judges. I learned not to ever take things with levity no matter how little it may be.

How did this shape my perspective?

Firstly, I’m glad that it happened in an early stage of my life and it’s never too late for me to achieve something.
It also shaped my perspective in the sense that I take things seriously especially when I know it is huge and even if I know it isn’t a huge thing or project, I always do my best and leave the rest for God.

It may be something that’s gonna pay you peanut, never take it with levity because you never can tell where you’d go from there.

Absolutely right, sometimes, the only way to win is to fail so failure is part of success

Exactly
They are interwoven

That must have been an awful experience but still, it is a good thing it happened early. This way you have learned a vital lesson

Exactly
The fact that it happened early is making me grateful

Love your attitude and your early experieces have taught you well. Being overconfident has its cons. Carry on with your positivity !LADY

Thank you so much, my friend

you are right, over confidence have ruined a lot of people career, because with overconfidence comes other bad qualities that will make you lose focus on what you are doing without you even realizing you are doing bad

Yes ooh
I’m glad I learned and not in a very hard way

Right, overconfidence leads us to failure. It is not wrong to fail, but it is wrong not to learn anything from it. Thank you👍

I’m so happy that I at least learned from that experience
