Every year, December period and early January are great festive season in my area. This is the time of the year where great multitudes of people are happy and enjoys great times. There's a lot of celebration and cultural events where everyone interact with each other socially and have fun.

We Igbos are known as sojourners and lives far away from our homeland. During the festive season, they came back in their numbers to associate with their kins and friends socially and even discussed over the development of the area.

In my village, every three years intervals, there's an event known as traditional retirement ceremony where every men and women that attain that retirement age of seventy years, danced around the village square and merry with others as they celebrate their lives for being healthy till that age. It comes with many benefits. They will be exempted from every communal works and taxes. They will enjoy the celebration as if they are alive to witness their burial ceremony. Everyone will felicitate with them with gifts, cars and money. It's a great occasion that everyone cherished. These are some of my plans to make a memorable seasons.

Firstly, I have to meet my eldest uncle to straighten his and our plans. As a paternal family, he is the head of our family. He is in charge of several events of which my family will hosted. We will be some of our daughter in marriage. Some young men in our family will get married. Discussion over our communal lands. All these events needs planning so we will sit together to do so. That's my first plan over this festive season to know my role and how the family matters will be handled.

Secondly, There are business engagements to raise more money. During this season, many business interests flourished so we take advantage of the season to make more money. I have a poultry farm where I raise broilers for sales.

They are doing very well. They are in their third weeks. I need to get more of their foods and drugs to get them ready for sales. This is where my focus is to raise enough money for the expenses of the festive seasons. Right now, I have spent huge amount of money to keep the business floating and sustained.

Thirdly, I have started to gathered food items for sales and feeding. During the festive season, bags of rices and beans get costly. Some of us get them ready and keep them till that time. It's cheaper now. So we get them for sales and enough to travel with them for the festive period. I have get my clothes ready too. All those things that will get costly and expensive during the seasons have been planned and bought now.

Finally

With these events on my mind, there's plans for making it a successful and happy events, I will be attending and traveling home to enjoy them. I don't want to miss any event at all. It will involve a lot of money and other things to be spend. Without a good plans, I might not make it a happy moments.

I know that the igbos don't miss going home for the festive season.

We are usually far from home. So we go home to feel better and see our people
