This week, MTN removed their most popular data plan, the digital bundle 15GB plan that only cost 2000 naira. This change came as a shocking surprise to a lot of Nigerians using MTN, as it has been the most affordable data plan option.
Here is my option!
Luckily for me, I am part of the individuals that subscribe to the yearly plan of 100,000 naira for 1 Tb of data, which I use for the space of 3 months, or 4 months max if I don't consume a lot of data. And for me, this data is the best data plan for me as compared to getting them in small units.
What makes mine better?
The major difference in getting the data in small units and bulk is that you pay more in the long run when you buy it in small units. Let us take getting 1 TB in chunks of 15 GB for 2000 naira each. That will approximately be a total of 136,500 naira spent to get data worth 1 TB, but yet, I get that same plan for 100,000 naira.
And at the end of the year, the number of times a 15GB subscriber buys data as compared to the number of times I spend on data in a year will be far more than how much I spend on my 1 TB data.
This is why I always make sure to plan myself and save money for my subscription plan ahead of time so it would not be difficult getting the data when it finishes.
Another perks of subscribing in large quantity is that you don't have to worry about when your subscription will finish all the time. I can go through a month without having to worry and think about my data finishing anytime soon.
How I earn passive income from it
I also use my data to make money as well. I sell part of my data to my friends as cheap as 5 GB for 1000 naira, although soon I will be increasing the price to 1300 naira.
MTN noticed my frequent transfer of data monthly, so they limited my data transfer to 10 times a month. This means I cannot sell as much data as I want in a month any longer. But it is fine!
