I had this very nosy colleague who always wants to be involved in every conversation and discussion. we were discussing about an event and he came in and asked what we were talking about, it was so annoying because he mustn't be involved in fact the conversation didn't involve him in anyway, I had to keep quiet to show my displeasure.
It was not because he asked to be involved in the discussion but because he was used to being nosy and a nosy man for that matter. I am quite an accommodating person, I tend to accept people no matter the race, tribe or status and some times even try to give excuses for somethings people do but there are some habits that cannot be overlooked and that turns me off, these are obviously my pet peeves.

They include:
Chewing gum lousily: Chewing gum loudly and lousily puts me off, especially when someone does this in the midst of a gathering of people. Such persons do not have social etiquette as such they tend not to see anything wrong in that.
Driving slowly on a speed lane : For crying out loud, you know there is a service lane that permits your speed of driving, why driving on a speed lane with such sloggishness.
Speed lanes on the express are for fast moving vehicles.
Snoring and choking: This particular one is quite funny. Some people tend to choke while they snore, they snore out so loudly and then choke in the process, they cough out, go back, continue the process, snore out loud, choke and cough out.
I find this quite funny because such persons will not enjoy the quietness of sleep.
poke nosing: Always wanting to know what is happening with everybody around even when it doesn't concern you, always wanting to be carried along in every discussion.
I find this quite annoying because most of the discussions are 99% non of your business.
Incessant hissing: Some persons just hiss at every little thing, whether it is necessary or not.
They are used to hissing, they could be on their own and just hiss for no just cause, I find this quite irritating.
There was an experience I had with a total stranger whom I happen to meet at the bank.
He kept hissing at every given moment, when it was necessary or not.
He complained about the waiting time, which was understandable, he hissed and hissed and hissed.
He was talking to himself and hissing.
I was very much irritated that I had to snap and asked him to calm down and be relaxed and stop hissing.
I told him everything would be resolved but his incessant hissing was not going to help in anyway rather he would get other people irritated.
Pet peeves are quite unique to every individual, your personality and traits defines what puts you off or not.
We are a product of nature and nurture. How we are wired determines what we like and dislike.
