Childhood days are known to usually be one of the fun moments of our lives because, as we grow, we tend to gradually become aware of our surroundings and then take responsibility, leading to fewer chances of indulging in fun activities. Unfortunately, despite how intriguing childhood used to be, not everyone has it glamorous like they would have loved it to be. I'm probably one of such people, and today I'll be telling you what I wish I had and did during childhood but couldn't for some reasons.
I can vividly remember that when I was quiet young, it's very normal to see kids play around, having the freedom to roam around the street and play all sorts of children's games; unfortunately for me, I don't have the same privilege, and each time I hear the noise of other children playing outside, the best I can do is gaze outside through the window to catch a glimpse of what they're doing and hopefully catch some fun via that.
Growing through all of this was painful for me, making my childhood days not much of a fun. I mean, I usually imagine myself out there with other kids playing, yet I couldn't because I've been restricted from going out by my parents for fear of me being influenced by the community we lived in at that point in time, even though they've got a good reason, and I myself can't help but see the good in what they did now that I'm off ages, but then I was pissed and always find every opportunity to sneak out of the house.
One reason why I said I understand my parents decision was because the community is known to be filled with notorious people who're a menace to the world, and you can imagine when I wished I had toys and different things to play with as a child and didn't have any, yet one day when I sneaked out to ride the bike of a friend, I ended up being hit by a drunk driver, leading to a serious accident and injuries.
Also, most of those I use to look out of the window to catch a glimpse of what play they're indulging in then aren't doing too well presently; it's not like I'm being proud of my status, but then looking at what they've grown to become, I'm certain their parents won't be too proud to know their child is into olosho, agbero, cultists, and the likes, and all I can think is that being exposed to such an environment to move freely as a child is what influences what they later grew up to become.
Now fast forward to the present day. As you can see, my parents were the ones who influenced my stay-at-home policy. Now I've grown up to become a stay-at-home man. I mean, I just don't see the big deal in going out, as I've grown to enjoy the company of myself. That shapes my introverted traits too, and it's never been easy for me to change with time. Despite the effort of friends and myself to be an outgoing person, it never succeeds, as each time I'm out, I just feel uncomfortable and longing to go back to the comfort of my house.
