My Climate Story: Favourites, Frustrations & Everything In Between

in #hive-111030yesterday

I could go on for hours talking about the weather conditions especially when it's about my favourite season of the year, the rainy days. It's funny how the season is used for motivating quotes like "Prepare for the rainy days" and so cool that I was born in a month that rainy season comes in full power here in my country, July.

When it's about our climate, I can't help but be amazed by how well thought out the plan to create these seasons by God Almighty is... He made the seasons for different reasons that you can't totally find one to be the best without thinking of what's best in the other season too.

I've always thought that Nigeria is blessed to have the three climates: "Dry, rainy and harmattan seasons" even though a lot of us wish we had snowy season too lol. These seasons play big roles in our daily activities and it's easy to blame each season for different reasons when it's time.

During the dry season, the sun is too hot and our skin gets dark and dry because of it, there are ways we have learned to cope with this season and hydrating is one of the best ways. We get to have our laundry dried out with no fear of rainfall during this season and some crops do well too.

With every season, comes with good and bad sides but I try my best to prioritise the good over the bad side. By doing that, I've found different reasons to love all weathers with special love for my favourite, rainy season. I won't lie that I've never had to be angry with the weather before.

The frustration that comes with not going out with an umbrella and it starts raining heavily, you'd be wishing you were home when it happened but can't take things back. Or the frustration under your roof when it's suffocating because of too much heat coming from the sun.

The harmattan season just ended here and so the memory is quite fresh what happens during this season. I have some kind of quiet hate on this season because of what it does to my skin but I've been killing the hate since I found a way to enjoy it and my skin will be intact till it's over.

I'm not consistent with news about what happens in other parts of my country but from all I know, there have never been a tornado to witness here. I've heard that some states in my country do experience snowy days but I'm not very sure how true that is, I would definitely want to witness it.

As regards to our body system, the seasons tend to come with it's own epidemic especially with the rainy season. Talk of a favourite that could also come with a bigger frustration but it doesn't make the season any less appreciated by me. I now understand that things happen for a reason.

So in conclusion, rainy season is my favourite but I have many reasons to love and enjoy other seasons too even though I didn't always liked them before. The frustrations are still there in each season but for the fact that we have our chances over with each season, it's appreciated.

Never witnessed snow when I was in Nigeria, but few times it rained ice in abuja.

Hello stranger 😘

Haha who am I seeing like this? 😂
So you're alive, where have you been?!

Lol! It's a very long story. Which of your social media is active? Or if you have IG, you can send me a dm @doziekash_ ... So that you don't give out your details here.

I followed your handle on IG now, couldn't send a dm though

I've heard many people complain that their weather is very cold, up to -100C. It will be a nice thing to experience first hand.

Rainy season is a great season, the most amazing thing about it is that when there is rain, the skin always glows from being moisturized

Thank you for sharing

Haha you want to experience such a cold weather when you've always not experienced it? you might freeze! 😂

That's very true about rainy season, I guess that's another reason I love it more.
