En la zona de Humocaro Alto en el estado Lara, en Venezuela, viven dos hermanos de nombre José y Juan, que su medio de sustento es la siembra de pepino en el terreno de su padre. Actividad que la hacen con mucho cariño, desde pequeños, conservan los más hermosos recuerdos de sus vivencias con el pepino.
Cada mañana, como es de costumbre, los hermanos se van a trabajar para estar al cuidado del cultivo, ya que hay que aflojarle la tierra, quitarle la maleza, ver si tiene plagas y regar con mucha agua para que su crecimiento sea bueno.
Esa rutina diaria es la que les ha permitido estar posicionados en los primeros puestos de venta de fruto óptimo para su consumo a nivel nacional e internacional… Muchos elogios recibían, pero a otros productores de pepino, no les agradaba cómo le iba a Juan y a José.
Luego de su regreso de vacaciones, bien merecido por su arduo trabajo, les tocaba volver a sembrar pepino, ya que 90 días aproximadamente habían pasado desde la última venta. Iniciaron con el proceso de limpiar el terreno, preparar la tierra y el abono respectivo, colocaron la semilla esperando la mejor producción ante vista…
Como a los 30 días, comenzaron a observar que a las hojas del pepino les cayó una plaga y para rematar tenían problemas con el suministro de agua. Ante la evidente dificultad que presentaban, a José le vinieron pensamientos de que un maleficio habían puesto en el terreno…
Le comentó a Juan lo que pensaba, el cual su hermano no creía en hechicería, sugirió buscar un fertilizante que elimine la plaga y construir un tanque para almacenar agua como opción. Compraron el fertilizante y comenzaron las 5 personas a abrir el hueco para el tanque. Ya cuando llevaban una profundidad, se encontraron con un objeto que no distinguían que era.
Lo limpiaron, le quitaron la tierra y se dieron cuenta de que era un talismán. Ahí José lo tomó y recordó las palabras de su abuelo: “el que posea un talismán y lo lleve consigo, sus problemas terminarán”. Desde ese momento lo cargó como amuleto, y en los días siguiente empezó a ver los cambios en las hojas del pepino; estaban sin rastros de plaga.
José se lo atribuyó al talismán, así como la abundancia de agua para la zona de Humocaro Bajo. Los fertilizantes quedaron en el depósito para cualquier novedad, y el tanque de agua se terminó de construir para posteriormente ponerlo en funcionamiento…
Con esta historia se evidencia que la fe y la confianza pueden atraer lo positivo, y este a su vez genera en nuestra vida lo que queremos.

They bought the fertilizer and the 5 people began to open the hole for the tank. When they had already gone some depth, they found an object that they could not distinguish what it was.
They cleaned it, removed the dirt and realized that it was a talisman. There José took it and remembered his grandfather's words: "he who owns a talisman and carries it with him, his problems will end". From that moment on he carried it as an amulet, and in the following days he began to see changes in the leaves of the cucumber; they were without traces of pests.
José attributed this to the talisman, as well as the abundance of water for the Humocaro Bajo area. The fertilizers were left in the reservoir for anything new, and the water tank was finished and later put into operation....
With this story it is evident that faith and trust can attract the positive, and this in turn generates in our lives what we want.
