Este fascinante personaje, notablemente tuvo una explosión de popularidad luego de la publicación de Drácula, un libro muy profundo que causo terror y pesadillas en la Europa de los 1800, lo sorprendente es que el concepto de este no muerto como ente terrorífico lejos de apagarse, se hizo más popular y evoluciono bajo la pluma de diferentes autores, alejándolo de la versión animal primitiva de un monstruo insaciable hasta convertirlo en un refinado noble, cautivador de mujeres, elegante y de sofisticados modales.

Pro supuesto, que en la evolución se perdió mucho de la esencia original y perturbadora de este ser, incluso algunas versiones recientes lo llevaron a posiciones terribles como la saga crepúsculo, la cual en lo personal, espero que quede en el olvido como un mal ensayo de una novela que alguna vez existió pretendiendo ser de terror.
