A "Tree Tuesday" post, which is hosted by @old-guy-photos, and my first post in the "Free Your Mind Community"... created by my dear friend and BroSir @mondoshawan
It's not even halfway through the week, and already we are coming up to the end of this month. June has passed by, with July and the coming Independence Day festivities... We continue to see the events take place in the world around us; no reason to really go into detail, as we are all, in some way, affected... yes? So what better a way, to spread some positive energy, as well as Free Our Minds, than to "look up" and think like a tree...
I know what you might be thinking... "Wes... that's not a tree, that is a Lilac Bush! But things aren't always as they seem right? This tree decided to be itself... be a tree but cast a shadow. Come to think of it, this would have made an awesome submission for @melinda010100's Shadow Hunters community... maybe next time! But does this remind you of anything? We humans have a way of wanting to see things for what they are... when sometimes, what we are looking for is right in front of us, but we can't really see it. We want things to be a certain way, or maybe; Just because it's a "shadow" of a tree, doesn't mean that it's not a tree... right? We need to remember, that sometimes things are just what they are, and no amount of searching is going to change that... stick with me now... there's a method to my madness here!
Smell the pumpkin pie in this? Autumn makes me think of that... Where was I? Oh... yes (Quit smelling your screen, its just a photo!)... Sometimes, trees can be beautiful. We love to climb them, look at their gorgeous leaves... and sometimes, we wait all year, for an opportunity like this, to get a photo with the turning of the colors. I know they are so much more than this... trees. I don't want to talk about cutting them down for firewood... or making furniture... or making paper (We have HEMP for that, but that's another post) because if I start talking about destruction, then it kind of ruins the whole thoughtful vibe right? This photograph could have just been trees with green leaves. Or trees at night... the darkness making you unable to really "see" anything. But this particular photo (if I remember right) was from a day when we had just finished cleaning up our 3 acres. A day when, unlike now, I was able to get out there, and really help around the property. It was a good day, and we were taking a break before we started to get our rakes, mower, and weed-trimmer put up. The way the sun was shining through the trees, I just had to take a quick photograph! Once again... there is a moral to my rambling... go look for some pumpkin-spice creamer or something, while I upload the next photograph...
Don't worry... it's not as bad as it looks. Well, it is... kind of. Some of you that know me, have already seen this photo. This is what happens when a neighbor brings plants from out of state, and with said trees, came termites. It's kind of a combination of termites mixed with water from our washing machine... we have been washing clothes on our porch. Yes... the washing machine is outside on our porch because the floors in our trailer have become so deteriorated that they can't take the motion and rocking of the washer. "What's your point, Wes?"... Even though the tree exploded, and fell over in the middle of the night. It's still a tree! It can be cut up, and used for firewood (easier to deal with the whole "destruction" talk now that it's fallen down, right?) Even though it has fallen down... it can still serve a positive purpose. It kind of looks cool doesn't it? Made me think of the Transformers movies... One more photo to go... almost to the end of my post, and ready for the Big Finale!!
So I know I said to "look up", but sometimes looking down, can be like "looking back". See what I mean? No? I understand dear friends... I can't even understand what I am saying sometimes 😄. We have had trouble seeing things, for what they are. We have been beautiful, and sometimes, we have been broken. But at the end of the day, we can still learn... learn from our mistakes, experiences, or circumstances. Like the photo above, we can "grow again"... The things that are going on around us, have a tendency to trickle into our personal lives... through our fingers, onto the keys, and before you know it... you put the wrong GIF up and hit "enter". See where I am going with this? We let things get to us sometimes. All this really is, is a post about trees on Tuesday. Presented in "Wes Fashion" to take your mind off of the bad things... and think about something different. We will get through this... I am sitting here at my laptop, holding out a hand, or better yet... arms wide open, with a loving hug, and a smile on my face. I hope after getting all the way to the end of my post (you are still reading right?) you were able to smile, nod, or more than likely scratch your head in bewilderment lol...
Thanks for reading my random thoughts of thoughtfulness... How about ending the post @zekepickleman style!!
What are you thoughtful for, today?
