Exploring Shawnee National Forest

Hey guys! I'm back again with some more shots we took while we went on our first family vacation to the Shawnee National Forest!

In my last post, I showed you our brief exploration along the Observation Trail of the "Garden of the Gods"; so I only thought it fitting to share some of the viewpoints along that Observation Trail!

The Breathtaking Views within the "Garden of the Gods"

The first picture was actually the first observation point that you came up to along the Main Trail, and was truly stunning to see in person. Pictures will never give the justice that this place deserves!

We did get a few family pictures taken around this area, and thankfully there weren't too many people at this location to block the views!

The rest of pictures were taken further up the Observation Trail, and were unfortunately crowded with people! This was our very first time at Shawnee National Forest, and we didn't realize how many people would be here; but thankfully, I was able to get a few good pictures of the scenery without too many people in them!

It actually was a little more hectic than we thought it would be, and there was actually a biker rally going on at the same time. All of that, plus the fact we had a toddler with us near these cliffs was a little nerve-racking to say the least!

We did have a great time though, and unfortunately we had to end our exploration of the Observation Trail not long after these photos were taken, due to the stroller that we brought making the flagstone near impossible to navigate!

I guess we were somewhat fortunate in the aspect that we didn't have my oldest children, "Fairy" and "Bug", with us, and we didn't have to disappoint them by leaving before finishing the hike along the Observation Trail.

Going along with that, we are going to take the girls with us the next time we go, and this time we will be a little more prepared! And hopefully we will be able to finish the hike, and see the rest of the beautiful scenery that is truly a "Garden of the Gods"!

Thanks for stopping by, and don't forget to tune-in next time for the family photos we took during our exploration of the "Garden of the Gods"!

Stay Trippy, My Little Hippies! I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Hello @the13anarchist! Those boulders are out of this world! Stunning view too!

By the way, as much as the Outdoors Community is a great one! The Pinmapple Community would be great for travel blogs! More exposure and engagement with other travelers from around the world! We usually write or tell our stories one place at a time (but not necessary) and get the pin for the location in pinmapple.com. Here is a detailed guide on how to do that. You might also want to check out their travel digests to see how travelers do their blogs and get you inspired! Make sure to engage with them too.

Happy Blogging!

Hi, @indayclara! :) And thank you, but I hope you get a chance to see it in person! :)

Thank you so much for linking that very informative user guide! Throughout my time here on Hive, I have heard of Pinmapple, but until now, I never really knew how to use it!

I'll definitely be looking into other users travel logs and see how they format their blogs, and I will definitely be attempting to use Pinmapple on my next post!! :)

Thank you for all your help! And I hope you have a wonderful week!! :)

I hope you get a chance to see it in person!

You bet I would! If teleportation was a thing, I probably was there by now!

Well, looking forward on your next travel blogs then!
