Started the morning yesterday in the greenhouse before the heat set in for the day. The tomatoes had gotten out of hand and needed a ton of trimming and then tying. The cucumbers weren't nearly as bad and only took a few minutes. The tomatoes are not all exactly hot house style and are staying smaller bushes and not letting me train them to the lines as easily.
I forgot to haul the debris out.
Then it was to the cabbage rows to harvest 15 smaller heads.
Amounted to 16.5 pounds and I split them between 2 larger bags and into the cooler they went.
I filled the tub with the debris and tossed it to the sheep.
I mowed along our road as it had overgrown again. I have plenty more to deal with around the farm still.
So... the hen got thrown out of the brooder. Actually thrown out as she was pecking at the chicks. I grabbed the Vetericyn and coated the spot. The other chicks didn't seem to be pecking at it much so it should heal okay.
After noon I headed down to the creek and cut out a bunch more of the branches.
The process is not the fastest but I am getting solid piles hauled to the sheep pen.
I really need to get the bushes cut down beneath the trees now as it will open the space up a lot. I will need to take my hedge shears most likely as the bushes are a bit on the thicker stemmed side.
The sheep and alpaca needed the waters filled and the first I filled was her pool which she plopped down in right away.
In the heat of the afternoon I was at the board cor a bit and got a nice run of 80+ with this being one of my better.
I took the boys to town and we met @stryeyz for dinner at Panda.
I headed home and around 8pm I was in the driveway with my fly rod working on my casting. It really amazes me how on point my cast is after all these years. I have a feeling the darts has helped my aim in general since I focus on a spot and cast right to it.
They got home from town and I was showing J how to cast when the cat came yowling at us. I cast the line gently at him and he went after the line. I ended up catching a catfish in my driveway.
I will have to grab one of my other rods and set it up for him to practice with with the small reel.
Got out to soak for a short session with the hot water.
This morning I have to check on the birds, will be going to the boys vacation bible study finale then this afternoon I will head up to Inkler's to get in a flight or 2.
