Yesterday there was a tiny bit of weather hanging on around but didn't leave much before dawn and had moved off by the time I took J to school.
R stayed home so I could take him to town to see the dentist to pull the nasty tooth that had given him the infection. This little man is a stud!!! He didn't want the numbing paste on his gums so he took the needle like a champ. 4 spots and he was numbed fully after 10 minutes. The dentist came in and they got to work on the tooth.
HOLY SHIT was it tough to get out. It hurt like a bitch and poor R cried hard from the pain and from it being scary. Once the tooth was out and we got a look at it it was super obvious why it hurt him so bad.
Just look at the way the roots are connected into 2 big fans instead of 4 individual roots.
Then both sides were angle OUTWARD! NO WONDER IT HURT SO BAD!
You can also see the reason the tooth went bad. The brown spots on the side was where the tooth was touching the other and they could see the cavity to work on it.
We went home after and he was in a good amount of pain the whole ride back but after a healthy does of ibuprofen and a bit of acetaminophen with a little rest he was feeling much better and ready to go to school. As I got back to the house the clouds were parting and we got a bit of sun during the day.
Mid day the PDC last 16 round 2 was on and some really good matches. Damien and Jermaine went to the very last darts possible and Jermaine just barely won.
While I was waiting for my packages to arrive I went out to the coop and worked on cleaning out the cooler of the nasty produce. The sheep were super happy for the nibblins and the birds eventually found the remains.
Still have a ton of celery I need to process, beets, and some tiny cabbage heads that are still good.
The deck got cleared off. The table and chairs got set against the shed out of the way as it makes clearing snow so much easier. And we are expecting some soon.
THEN THEY ARRIVED! I got the Logitech MX S keyboard. Over $100 for it but damn this thing is SWEET! The keys press so nice, it's built super well, has programmable keys, USB C rechargeable, and has no fucking fn key that I was always hitting with m,y hand and screwing up what ever I was typing. I've spent as much on this one as I did on the multiple that I have killed over the years from too much use. I'm fully in love with this thing!
AND my new SSD got shoved in my computer and began the SO SO SO Slow process of repopulating the drive with everything on the backup. It is going to be a long process.
The boys have a STEM club on Thursdays now after school and as I was driving out of the parking lot I saw this super cool looking cloud to the east.
Back on the farm I got the trailer hooked up and ready for the grain run I have done this morning already.
@stryeyz got home from work and while I was working on dinner I heard her talking to R and J in the living room about them wearing the same shirt again, on the day they both had the club. I then walked into the room and showed that it was actually all 3 of us wore the same shirt without realizing the others were.
The Kraken played and it was looking a bit shaky for a while but then they got the lead out and managed a goal.
I also got a new headlamp. I've been a Petzl headlamp devotee for many years but with tech so much better now I have been looking at different brands. I was looking at all the Petzl and the highest lumens lights are only 1100 and use their proprietary batteries. So I got this one off Amazon that uses a single 18650 cell which is fully removable, can be charge in the light, and is easily removed from the head strap holder. This thing is 1200 lumens on highest and holy shit is it bright!
The yard last night without the light.
And with the light! It is insanely bright. I could see about 150 to 200 feet away. For reference my Petzl head lamp is only 430 lumens on high.... What an incredible difference. AND I have hundreds of 18650 cells!!!
@stryeyz was at bible study so I got out to soak for half an hour as I wanted to see the end of the Kraken game.
The full moon looked cool with the clouds all around it. I got to see it in all its glory again this morning on my way to and from town.
The Kraken got up 2-1 in the 3rd and right at the end Turbo got an empty net goal for 3-1 win.
I was up at 4am this morning and then into town for a good sized load of grain. I'll get the boys to school then will empty the trailer. I'm going to roll up the greenhouse side and spread it all inside since I didn't do it last winter and I could tell this last growing season. I will keep working on getting my backup transferred, there's a pair of PDC matches mid day, wood needs splitting, trees need cutting down and up (which I might try doing today), then I will get a fire in the pit this afternoon to grill dinner tonight.
