Truck Rear Brakes Replacement, Codes, Weather, Tree Trimming, Darts, Rest - Sunday

in #hive-1143084 months ago

We had intent on going kayaking during the day but plans changed. While they went to the store I worked on my truck and got the brakes changed. It was a bit of a pain on the first side as it has been years since I changed out rear brakes. I'm really happy that I have the experience though as it all came back pretty quickly.

I had to watch a bit of a video to see where the parking break arm was to be installed but I figured it out. The pads are new and I had to shorten the bar between a ton so I could get the drums back on.

With both sides installed I had to bleed my brakes which is rather hard by myself but I figured out a way to make it work. I cracked the bleed port then pressed the brake pedal down and held it in place with the bat. I did it a couple times and mostly got the brakes solid. I might have to do it again if it still feels soft today.

I was rather sore after the mechanics and we looked at the doppler to see a good sized rain mass heading our way. That killed our kayaking plans so we were hanging around the house the rest of the day.

The tree over the fire pit has gotten branches singed by the heat so I grabbed the pole saw and cut a few of them off. I tried to leave all the good branches around them.

The expected rain turned into a nothing burger. We got a tiny smattering of rain out of the storm that broke up for the most part before it hit us.

I had shows on for the afternoon and spent time resting as my legs were super sore. I stepped to the board for a 5 minute session and my first throw was nice 130. The rest of my throws were okay but not nearly that.

I put The Mummy on to watch during dinner. It holds up pretty well with the effects and everything still looking okay and not like watching a 50s movie. The boys liked it.

We headed out to soak but I got only half an hour as I was falling asleep in the water.

Today I will get the boys to and from school, will head up to fly this morning, it's our anniversary today so we will try to do something for it, and hopefully I can stay mostly pain free.

I’m glad you could replace the break by yourself
If not, you’d have paid someone for it and that’s extra cost

It is rare that I pay someone else to do something for me. It's how I was raised.
