This time I tried to clean the grass on the plantation land using a grass cutter. Using a lawn mower apparently also makes my body weak and my left and right hands feel sore because the vibration of the machine is too high and we have to carry it like a bag when using it. This is my first time trying to use this lawn mower. which I usually call to people who work grass cutters. However, these months I don't have enough money to give to grass cutting workers, so I am forced to do it myself because the grass on my plantation is starting to grow tall. Of course this will be even more difficult if I don't make cuts now.
Using this lawn mower, you also have to use appropriate equipment, such as glasses and shoes, because the machine's blade is quite sharp. When cutting, many small sticks flew into the body. so you have to be careful when using it.
After cutting for several hours it took almost half a day. My plantation is starting to look clean and the surrounding atmosphere is starting to be very pleasant to look at. However, because I was very tired and couldn't force myself to continue this work, I stopped for a moment before continuing with other work.
I went back to work, I wanted to collect the betel nuts that had fallen. Usually I collect betel nuts by mashing the stems of the fruit, but because my body still feels tired or it's easier, I just collect the fallen fruit.
The price of areca nut is currently starting to improve or is starting to get a little expensive, compared to the price a few years ago, the price of betel nut is very cheap. so that many areca palm tree plantations are not maintained by their owners and many of the fruits grow separately under the trees. Recently, many people in my area have made the switch, cutting down areca palm trees and planting oil palm trees. Fortunately, I am still in a position where the price of areca nut is starting to improve again and of course this is a lucky break for me and the people who have not cut down areca palm trees at this time.
I want to take the areca nuts that I have collected in this sack home to dry at home for a few weeks to dry. If it's dry and after I peel the skin, the price of the areca fruit, which is already dry, is more expensive than the price of the areca fruit which is not yet dry like this even though it has been peeled.
Previously, I didn't realize that one of the duku trees had fruit, because this was the first time this duku tree had produced fruit, since my father planted it. When I passed by while picking up betel nuts, I was surprised to see that the duku tree was already bearing fruit. I immediately took the remaining sack and walked back to where the duku tree was.
I have been able to harvest these duku fruits, because some of them are already yellow, and apparently, many of the fruits have fallen and been eaten by bats. There aren't many fruit left, only left in between the leaves with lots of ants resting on the fruit. Maybe because of this, the duku fruit was not completely eaten by the bats because of the ants' stopover.
you know. Lay people often say that Duku fruit is often compared to Langsat fruit. Even so, the shape of the fruit remains the same, but they still have their own version. Dangin duku fruit is thick and tends to be drier compared to Langsat. The taste is sweet with a little sourness which is very soft, the seeds are small and sometimes don't taste bitter if bitten. Meanwhile, the flesh of the Langsat fruit is thinner and more watery, the taste is also sweet but more sour than duku and the Langsat seeds are also bitter if bitten.
Here you can see the results of the duku fruit after I collected them in a sack. Even so, it wasn't too much, but I felt quite satisfied and grateful to be able to taste the fruit from my own plantation and the fruit from the duku tree that first bore fruit.
When I wanted to go home I also took pictures. Where you can see my plantation after I cut the grass. The plantation looks very pleasant and the trees look more vibrant. There are still large areas of grass that I will cut, maybe I will do it again in the next few days.
