I'm set to plant waiting for the rains.

Planting and harvesting were the systems through which we grew up in those days... Living with my maternal grandmother. Myself being the first child of my mother before other of my siblings started appearing 😂....

In my locality, people believed that if you love your mother and at the same time showing her affections, you have to keep one among all your own children with your mum, for her to raise him or her up in the most suitable ways of the elders in the villages in the south Eastern States of Nigeria.

Through this medium, it turned out that i see planting and harvesting as part of me, and one of my hobbies. Even some years back i and family lived in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, I planted saint leaves, coriander and tomatoes seeds near our window where we lived. Just by seeing some little space for planting sand near our window, I planted the seeds and kept watering them till the grew to fruiting, seed bearing, ripping and harvesting, we enjoyed them so much.

I was using them instead of buying at all from the markets or grocery stores or from even the malams that used to hawk goods around.

It makes me glad to see sprouting seedlings and plants. Then i never learned about this my new methodology of planting in empty cement sacks, i would have tried so many different seeds. Anyway, knowledge is like oceans, they never get dried up or empty at all. Knowledge is always available.

If only we can calm down to intentionally take part to understand and obviously make use of all we have learned often. We can apply different dimensions of knowledge and wisdom into situations on daily basis.

I'm very much available and ready to plant more this year. As it's now, i have already set up like twenty to thirty sand filled empty cement bags waiting for the rains, so i can start planting very early again for this year, 2025. This time around i will extend my seed planting into sacks instead of on the ground up to fluted pumpkin seed, chilli pepper, okra, but i will plant maize and cassava on some small space of ground in my backyard not on cement sacks.

I believe they will yield abundantly, i have put my mind to it. I have also planned out how it goes with me this year. I'm so happy that such great things can be achieved in something as common as the 'empty cement sacks.' I'm just waiting for the rains to drop then i will surely kick this plans of mine off.

Just take a look at how ready i am now waiting for the rains. All these are for yams. Placed near the wall so I can link up the creepy plants with nails fixed on the wall. The plants are to be tied with rope on the nails to the wall. It's my methodology instead of looking for bamboos to tie the creeping plants.

This is my own experience and it has come to stay.
