Hello Everyone!
Getting sidetracked, Limited racket, Draining the water system, Running low on water & Getting ready for some seriously bad weather!
Alright, I meant to write this much earlier in the day... but I got rather engrossed in sharing that recent project that I have been working on... and dealing with the feedback from it. Not that it is here nor there... but it (the sharing) has been a rather frustrating process overall... and I am glad that I am adept at dealing with those of the trolling persuasion.
Thankfully, last night there was not a ton of gunshots or fireworks... which was nice... because at least I did not have to comfort the dogs too much... nor have to deal with them being in full blown panic mode. There was a single large explosion early in the evening followed by about thirty minutes of gunfire... but hey that is less than what I hear on an 'average' day around here!
As far as the new year goes my big goal is to simply 'survive' and that is about the beginning and end of it in regards to all that jazz. The only other thing that I want to do is move from the 'experimental' stage with my coding hobby into something much more focused... like working on one project at a time until it is completely dialed in before taking on another project.
Anyways, the temperature is set to plummet below freezing again tonight... so I went ahead and drained the gravity-fed water system... and filled up four gallon jugs of water from my drinking water rain barrel. A few days back there was a good bit of rain... so I was able to replenish some of my drinking water (in that same barrel) but for the most part it is still running much lower than I am comfortable with.
Over the coming week the weather is going to 'swan dive' even further... and get much colder than it has been so far this winter. I am unsure if it is technically a 'polar vortex' or not but the forecast is basically calling for temperatures in the mid to low teens Fahrenheit (roughly -8 to -12 Celsius) and it is going to get windy as heck to boot.
I am not exactly looking forward to seeing how well my tent setup works in those kinds of conditions... but hopefully I have enough propane to make it through the worst of it. Ever since learning about the impending bad weather I have been being as conservative as I can with my fuel supply... but if at all possible I should try to find a way to get my empty tanks filled just in case.
Well, I am feeling a bit burned out from all the back and forth dialogue online today... and I used up way too many of my 'words for the day' in the process. I hope that everyone is doing well. Ta ta for now.
P.S. Happy Newest Year!
