Greetings,
It’s a sad day for me but I just had to write something I promised to give you guys an update of how our cassava farm is doing. So here I am, just two days ago I made a post where i gave an update of the nature of the farm. In the post I did mention how cows destroyed some part of the farm. We tried our best to visit the farm on a regular bases just to make sure they didn’t show up again.
Unfortunately today morning when we arrived at the farm we were shocked to what we saw. The whole farm was completely destroyed by the cows. They had chewed off all the fresh leaves off the cassava plant.
It was indeed very sad to see that the headsmen of the cattle would just sit by and allow his cows to do this to someone’s farm. The most painful thing is that we didn’t meet them in the farm. We would have charged them for damages.
There was nothing we could do again rather than try to put up fence around the entire farm. And hope that the leaves on the stalks start to grow again. If not all our labour would have gone to vain. I just felt the need to let you in on this one. It’s indeed a sad morning for me and my family.
What I’ve learnt from life is that we learn from our mistakes and we will surely learn from this one too. Probably the next time we try to cultivate cassava, we will try a different location or maybe try to put up a strong fence to keep the cows and other animals out. Thank you and see you soon.
