HELLO HIVE

I brought this little poult in without much conviction that it will survive because of how young and fragile it was and it has only been a month now but it has grown so well to the level of exceeding my expectations as a farmer and I am planning to bring in another one let's see how it goes in the next couple of weeks. Poultry business is a field I have always had an eye on even if it will be small but that has not really been forth coming because of how much it cost to venture into it now, the estimated cost of feed is what scares me the most but now the cost of poultry bird is now another hindrance on the way.

A cost of purchasing a day old poult has now more than double which made my initial plans of purchasing two drop down to one and at this price it wouldn't look nice to get this poults that are only a month old and then end up losing a few before they grow that was the reason behind me buying broilers that were already a month old when I recently tried my hands on poultry farming that was very fruitful in the end.

There is one advantage that the poults has shown so far and that is the fact that poults are some how strong and active the moment it hatch from their eggs though farmers still have other things to contend like the weather if it is chilling at the point of the poults hatching because of how poorly feathered the poults are at the point of hatching and that why they get special chambers for the poults in large farms and incubation centers around the world but for a farmer like me I have to make with what I have so the cage has to be designed and built to reduce the chilling conditions if the poults were brought in during a chilling weather condition and if not then it won't be needed.

The other problem the poults can face are dangerous animals like small snakes and even dogs so many carnivorous animals that will pose a some dangers to this young poults and that's where a strong housing system or cage comes in the important thing here is how can farmers protect these young poults that they've so much on to prevent any form of loss. This poults used to be sold for three thousand naira(#3,000) per poult and that's for the hybrid ones but now it is double the local breeds were sold for lesser prices the cost of feed isn't there yet so it is quite a lot for a farmer.

Now that this poult has gone past the hard growth stage because of their nature I can now look forward and plan for something better in the future.
