Hello everyone, love greetings to all of you in the #homesteading community, of course it's great to be here for a fun day.

On this occasion today I would like to tell you about my family's simple plantation, this garden is a cocoa garden that the land area of this garden is not large but if the harvest period of this cocoa fruit arrives it feels enough to support the family at home and fulfill the family's economy, this is the first harvest this week in a simple cocoa garden.

Cocoa is a plant that has a very identical fruit and seeds that are useful for several food products, especially chocolate, with special processing methods carried out by some cocoa farmers such as drying cocoa beans that have entered the harvest period under the hot sun, currently cocoa fruit is experiencing a period of high demand so that the selling price also soars, cocoa beans that have been dried and have been processed are now often exported to various countries as food ingredients that blend with chocolate.

This week's harvest at my family farm is the first harvest, I was a little sad when I saw that this year's cocoa harvest was thinning in contrast to the previous year, some cocoa pods also looked bad, it seems that the cocoa fruit in my farm is an old tree so that the fruit produced is no longer perfect, I spent time from morning until noon in this farm accompanied by my mother and sister to harvest cocoa fruit together, the cocoa fruit that has been picked is immediately split with a sharp knife to peel the hard cocoa skin.

I want to share how to recognize cacao fruit that is ready for harvest, how to find out is to look directly at the color of the cacao fruit when the cacao is still young it will usually be green and the cacao that has entered the harvest period will be yellow, but in my garden there are several different colors such as one of these cacao looks dark red which looks brownish, when I pick the cacao fruit which is brownish red it seems that it has entered the harvest period I see the seeds of this cacao it's time to harvest as well

After I harvest in the garden, I immediately take the cocoa home to enter the next stage which is drying under the hot sun, I choose a location in my yard here looks very hot when the sun rises like enough to dry the cocoa until dry

Furthermore, when the cocoa beans are dry, my mother will collect the cocoa beans and sell them to buyers to get money from the harvest in the garden, I will return next week to the garden to harvest other cocoa beans that have entered the harvest period, currently in my village there are many cocoa farms, some cocoa farmers are currently harvesting cocoa beans in their respective gardens.

That's all for today, regards @macro1997
