My corn harvest, an effort that was worth it

Hello friends, here again to talk to you about my corn crop, 3 months ago I made a publication related to the preparation of the land on my farm for the purpose of planting corn, well friends I tell you that I did this. project and I have already started harvesting corn.

Well friends, the process of planting corn began with the preparation of the land, which includes plowing and marking the parallel lines so that the rows of corn were well distributed. I also want to tell you that for planting the corn corn I took into account the lunar phase, in this case I sowed the seeds in the waning phase, let me tell you that I always respect the lunar phases for different types of crops, I learned this custom from my grandparents, notice that although many do not believe it If corn is planted between the new and waxing moon phases, corn plants tend to grow a lot and with little production, so to avoid problems it is best to plant between the full and waning moons when it comes to corn cultivation. corn and some tubers.

Corn planting begins with plowing the land

Yes friends, the first thing is to plow the land with the use of an agricultural tractor, two crossed harrow passes.

Planting corn in rows

After preparing the soil, the next thing is to mark the lines on the ground so that the rows of the plants are straight. The distance between plants is 30 centimeters and the distance between the rows is 80 centimeters.

Corn seeds are certified, selected for planting

I bought these seeds for 5 dollars per kilo, they are not hybrid seeds, but certified, that is, they are well selected seeds for sowing, the grains are quite uniform.

Here you can see the corn plants 10 days after planting:

The seeds germinated after 7 days and after 10 days they had already reached a height of almost 8 centimeters.

Corn cultivation care:

Well friends, the cultivation of corn requires a lot of attention from the farmer, we must keep the soil free of weeds at least until the plants have reached a height of 1.5 meters, it also requires the application of granular NPK fertilizer or slow acting.

Cleaning the corn area:

Applying granular fertilizer of the formula (N-P-K) 15-15-15

Corn cultivation requires a lot of nitrogen and phosphorus, especially in its early stages of development, the formula N-P-K 15-15-15, then after 45 days I use fertilizer with high potassium content to fill the fruit.

Waiting for the harvest time.

Well friends, the harvest is the best moment of the crop period, the harvest is where the effort, dedication and sacrifice of the farmer is reflected, in this work, the farmer has to take care of the plants, the farmer has to be attentive to the insects, especially the worms that attack this type of crop, but despite the arduous nature of this crop, the farmer forgets about all those inconveniences when in the end he manages to enjoy the fruits of the crop, I really had days difficult, because of the too sunny days, but now that the harvest has arrived, I have forgotten everything and I think that it was worth the sacrifice because my family can now enjoy some delicious cakes and sweet corn buns, although I tell you something, Parboiled or roasted jojotos are delicious, they are very appetizing for children.
