I want to use this medium to greet all great Hivers. How has been your day so far, hope you are all doing good? I'm positive minded that it's all well and fine.
It's that time of the year again when almost everybody including the neighbors try as much as possible up grow one or two things. The rain has been absent since last year October ending, due to this, to grow crops became difficult because the land is already dried. Some days ago, the rain started again which had given room for many opportunities to start growing the likes of veggies, maize, legumes and many other things.
Land access and seeking permission.
The land I'm using for this year's maize plant is the two plots of immediately at the back of my poultry farm though it's fenced. I have used the land for planting of maize some years back, that's when the fence was a bit lower which give goats easy access into the land but not anymore since the fence has increased in height. I got the permission to use the land from the owner's relatives though he's out of the country.
Making hips.
Though I couldn't make the heaps so I hired two people to handle it for me which I paid them in cash and in kind. It's a day job to make the heaps.
Today's only to make the heaps,so tomorrow being Saturday will be meant to bury the maize before the next rain so that the germination process can start.
The importance of making the heaps.
- The heaps will stand ad support for the maize root to stand.
- To prevent erosion from washing away the base of the maize root.
- To bring alive the manure and ph of the soil.
Thanks for stopping by to view my blog. Please do have a wonderful day ahead.@peterale caresπ€Bold
