Depression is a mood disorders that cause persistent feelings of sadness and loss of interest. Anxiety is the persistent worry and fear about past events, everyday situations, or what the future holds.
Depression and anxiety are interconnected, a person goes through anxiety before getting depressed, and the most vulnerable groups who are likely to be depressed are the teens, youth, and young adults who are scared of what the future holds and gradually turn into depression. People get depressed for many reasons such as financial instability, peer pressure, abuse, health status, fear of the future, and so on, and these influence the way we think, and socialize, they may also disturb our day-to-day activities causing social isolation, loss of appetite, and suicide for it will make one feel like the life isn't worth living.
Depression should not be taken for frivolity, it is not a weakness of the body or something you can easily snap off for it deals with the mental and emotional state of an individual. For some people, depression happens over a lifetime while for some it occurs multiple times.

The feelings of sadness, the feeling of worthlessness, anxiety, social inequality, loss of interest in activities, and sleep disturbance, most people feel this way multiple times in a lifetime and these are the symptoms of depression. The most reassuring fact is that depression can be treated when you follow a healthy lifestyle.
Individuals who experience depression and anxiety are likely to develop an unhealthy lifestyle such as drinking, drug abuse, self-mutilation, suicidal feelings, and social isolation. Which can be dangerous to individual health and hinder one's healing or recovery whereas adopting a healthy lifestyle such as talking to someone about how you feel, seeing a therapist or a doctor, adequate sleep, writing down how you feel, getting exercise, avoiding the use of alcohol to cool, reading up about depression and having a balanced nutrition can enhance and promote recovery.
The most important thing is that we as an individual should play a vital role in helping those who are depressed by rendering our listening ears, strong social support, love, care, and advice to them. Check on someone who does notice but suddenly you don't see them again. Lemme share a story here.
So there is this lady, who works in a company, and when she is going or coming back from work she always buys something for the gateman in the estate, so the gateman notices he has not been seeing her for a few days then he goes to check up on her when he got to her house he met the lady friends and asked about her and he was told that for about 4 days she hadn't eaten, taken her bath or even replied to anyone in the house, she was locked up in her room, then the man called her name and told her that he was hungry because she hasn't been bringing him food that she should come out, hopefully, she came out hearing the man voice and ask her maid to serve him food but he refused and said that she has to eat with him. After a while, she agreed to take her bath and eat with the man. Then she further explained that she had been going through depression and was thinking of committing suicide but fortunately, the man saved her life. She was relieved of the stress and heaviness in her heart because she was able to speak up about it. You also help someone recover today.
