Having been a Nottingham Forest season ticket holder at the City Ground for over 30 years I’ve seen some good times and bad times, from the highs of the first seasons of the Premier League to the lows of League 1, bringing in players with unique talents and watching players that have made watching my team unbearable.
This week we saw a unique talent further his game, for the first time in nearly 30 years Forest have managed to get a player in the England team, we have had many internationals in between but there’s something special about players playing for your own national team.
Morgan Gibbs White.
In the two seasons he has spent in the premier league he has played 72 games for Forest and scored 10 goals, but his creative ability, in a team threatened with relegation for the past two years has been amazing, 18 assists that have managed to keep the reds out of relegation despite the premier leagues point deduction.
Unbeaten this season the break and having our captain (unfortunately Ryan Yates will struggle to start many games this season) arrive on the England scene gives us a lot of hope for the season ahead.
Let’s hope next week we can survive the fire of Anfield and we can continue our great start to the season, which admittedly could have seen us with 9 points if we had defended slightly better!
All said do far this season I’ve been happy with what I’ve seen and the addition of James Ward Prowse in the transfer window following Danilo’s season ending (no matter what the club says!) injury 8 minutes into the season can only give all Reds fans hope!
