Role modeling can be described as one being living his life like pouring his life into the life of another.

WHO IS A ROLE MODEL
A role model is one who lives his life such that people especially younger ones can learn examples from. Role models are simply human beings who live their lives in which others see, like, adopt their lifestyle and principle with the mindset to be just or more than them. While growing up I had no role model until recently. And when I eventually saw the need to have a role model, I had many role models. The reason is because I hardly find a single Individual who imbibes all the qualities I desire. Because of this I decided that myself in the future is my role model. And to achieve this, I needed the many role models I picked interest in to build the me I desire.
The list of persons I chose are however Nigerians, and they include, Prof. Yemi Osibanjo (Former Vice President of Nigeria), Bro. Gbili Akani (A Preacher), Apostle Joshua Selman (A Preacher too), and My Father. But for this post I would restrict my entry to Prof. Yemi Osibanjo.
WHAT MY ROLE MODEL DOES
Prof. Yemi Osibanjo is a legal Practitioner, a one time attorney general of one of the states in Nigeria. He is also a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God and a Politician. He is the immediate past Vice President of Nigeria. Prior to doing all the above listed, he was a lecturer, and he started his lecturing career in his early twenties. This particular fact about his inspires me a lot. Sadly am over my early twenties, but I am still hopeful that one day I will find myself within the fall walls of a higher institution of learning to impact knowledge.
WHAT I LIKE ABOUT MY ROLE MODEL
There are many things to learn about him. First for me is the fact that he is a legal Practitioner. He is a lawyer and was in active legal Practice, successful to the extent that he rose up in the career to become the Attorney General in one of the states in Nigeria. If I want to achieve in the Legal Profession, I want to be like him. Secondly is his personality. I learned about his personality when he attended a youth event and was admonishing youth who are tirelessly seeking for greener pastures. He emphasized the need to be patient and to engage in self personal development. Since then, I like to listen to the good man speak. Thirdly is his participation in politics such that he rose to the office of Vice President. Often, it is said that you must be though to partake in politics. But here is a perfect gentle man successful in politics. Fourthly is his religiosity. To mention but a few, is his persistence, confidence and ambitious nature. He has acquired all these because he has been ambitious. I got seriously motivated by his declaration when he contested for president of Nigeria. And the manner at which he accepted defeat shows humility and responsibility.
WHAT I HAVE LEARNED FROM MY ROLE MODEL
I have learned a lot from him. First in the area of career. I have learned principles and approach towards career. I have also learned that calm and gentle men can also partake in politics. Above all, I learned to be patient in Life. At some point in my life I felt my peers and colleagues were become more successful. From his speech I learned that everybody has their own time designated to make remarkable achievement. However, we need to prepare ourselves so that when the opportunity comes, we would be prepared. Following his has also taught me to be ambitious and focused and even in the face of defeat, I must be humble to accept the outcome of each and every plan and efforts I make.
