Hi there! this my first post in the QC Community @consciouscat encouraged me to join and try these weekly writing prompts. I have been around a while now but am looking to grow a bit outside my usual fitness, gaming, travel posting and commenting.
To this weeks question about whether I am creative? Well maybe not so much in the purely artistic sense but in more of a building sense it is one of my best traits.
I pretty much designed and built our whole back yard, that has to be classed as creative! I had a contractor build the pool but then I planted every plant, laid every paver and even built a bit of a skate ramp for my son and his mates. Most of the ramp was built out of disused second hand timbers from construction sites I was working on.
The Skate ramp evolved over many years, it was continually be upgraded and changed as my son and his neighbourhood friend grew older. I was creating out of what resources that were available, based off ideas that we had seen at other places and online.
I rarely creative from nothing, I seem to have to have seen and or got ideas to start from somewhere else but then adapt it to something of my own.
More recently I have been working on some paths and gardening beds in the front yard so we can try growing some food of our own.
It usually takes me a few goes at getting something I am happy with. Sort of getting the lines, angles and shapes to blend in with exiting slopes.
Hopefully I can create something a bit more interesting up the side of our house too. Long ago I just put a few pavers down and some stones outside the laundry but now I have a little more time it would be nice to add some green and try to bring it to life.
