Hello, beautiful people! Welcome to my blog. It's a pleasure to have you in this space. Once again, welcome 🤗
I personally feel misunderstanding usually results as a result of miscommunication or misinterpretation of either a person or situation.
I have been misunderstood, and I have also misunderstood someone.
I recall an incident that happened between me and a close friend. This whole situation started as a miscommunication; she was supposed to pass a message to me, but since she couldn't reach me through my number, she relayed the message to a mutual friend and asked her to tell me when she sees me.
When delivering the message, this mutual friend of ours used a different and harsh tone to pass the message and said that was what my close friend told her to do.
On this particular day I was angry about a particular thing, and then this message came. This made me angry and also led to an argument between me and my close friend, and we said some things we regretted later on.
A few days after we had cooled off, we reflected on the whole situation and realized that it was a miscommunication.
Looking back now, I realize how important communication is; it is usually important to be sure of the source of the information you get and also get to the root of it before conclusions.
While it may be impossible for misunderstanding to be avoided, there are things we as individuals can do to minimize it. We can ask the right questions when we don't understand what is being said. We can also listen actively to what the other person is saying. This is not limited to what has been mentioned.
If we put different strategies in place, it will help us to an extent avoid misunderstanding and help build our relationships with others.
THANK YOU FOR READING TO THE END 🤗
