Step by step, with the advancing years, the private schools took to make celebration, party, costume contest even in the schools that called themselves catholic in their school projects.
I always kept out of this celebration that year after year took force and is now established as part of the planning in school agendas, of course the trade is not to be said. When this date approached we met to plan based on it. I remained mute, I did not approve of this type of activity, I would not or could not give it entry into my belief system, as a Venezuelan my response was, that culture is not Venezuelan, besides it goes against the education and religion that is professed as is the Catholic religion. As innocent as it may seem because of the famous candy exchange, it seems that many take advantage of it to bring out their deepest obscurities.

All my premises were always rejected, in my home this date was never given importance, in my social circles neither, my children grew up without giving importance to it, as it happens in other environments. That now, adults join some celebration for work or some meeting place for that day, is another thing. It is their decision.
Each country has its own way of celebrating it, and in these times I only observe, I do not give my opinion, each one chooses from their culture, history, belief of how they assume it, how they allow it in their spaces. Truly, to go against this collective conscience is hard because of all the ground it has gained.
Today you can see parents and children of our country celebrating it with the best costumes, representations of makeup on their faces. Houses, schools, public institutions, in the most natural way as if it is really part of our history and our culture.
