Hi all friends who are always loyal to this community. How are you? May the best always be with you and continue to develop as you wish. At this first opportunity, I would like to share a little about fruit that is healthy and widely consumed. This fruit is known as Katilayu in my area. Or with the Latin name Erioglossum rubiginosum.
If you look closely, the Katilayu fruit is shaped like the Melinjo/Gnetum gnemon fruit with a yellowish green color. When the fruit is not ripe, the resulting color is bright red. While ripe fruit is blackish red or maroon.
Generally, Katilayu grows upwards with upright stems which are overgrown with branches at the top. The function of branching is as a place for leaf growth.
Katilayu tree branches contain high wood fiber so they are very sturdy. While the outer part or bark is blackish brown with a rough texture on the skin.
Katilayu leaves are oval and elongated with each part having a sharp tip and arranged pinnately. Katilayu leaves are light green because they contain chlorophyll, which makes them bright green. The function of these leaves is as a media for photosynthesis, the process of evaporation of water, to where the stomata are located.
So little information about the fruit and trunk of this tree. Hope it is useful. We will meet in the next post. Best wishes to you all.
