Beaches and seas are natural landscapes that are widely used as tourist attractions because of their beauty. On this occasion, I will share stories and pictures of children who look so happy spending their time playing in the sea and beach located in Latak Ayah Village, Simeulue, Aceh - Indonesia. The distance from the city center is about 65km, and along the way, we will be presented with stunning natural beauty.
The main purpose of me and my colleagues to this location was actually to eat lobster noodles. Unfortunately, when we arrived the restaurant that usually sells the food was closed, so we ended up just sitting around while enjoying the natural scenery and surroundings of the beach and sea in Latak Ayah village. Despite the stunning natural beauty, one thing that really caught my attention was the presence of children who were happily swimming on the beach and playing on the boats parked around them.
There were dozens of children who I estimated to be no more than 12 years old, probably still in elementary school. They seemed to be local residents because I didn't see their parents around the beach. The same goes for their swimming skills, which I don't think need to be doubted. This is because they look so confident swimming and chatting casually in the water.
In the distance, two children were also seen riding on the inner tire of a truck that had been filled with air. This kind of float is very common in Indonesia. They were riding it because they were too far from the shore, where I'm sure the water must have been quite deep.
In addition to the children playing in the boat and the sea, I was also distracted for a while by the presence of other children who were eagerly playing on the beach. From what I could see, these children were throwing sand at each other while laughing with satisfaction. This is actually rather dangerous, considering that if the sand particles get into the eyes, it can cause irritation. However, this seems to have been put aside by them, because for them to be able to laugh so freely with friends of the same age, is something that must be prioritized.
That's a short story of what we got when we visited the beach located in Latak Ayah Village. I'm sure that all of us, when we were the same age as these kids, would have played with abandon without even thinking about things that might happen out of our control.
