A small bridge with a pond of colorful and lively fishes? That was an enchanting encounter with a variety of vivid species and an evergreen scenery at Lunocan, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, Philippines.
What a nostalgic feeling as I have been to a spot full of lively organisms. This encounter made me remember when I was younger, as we used to go to my aunt’s place in Misamis Oriental because they were raising fish and yes, they had a pond. As a little kid back then, I also wished to catch a fish and I was trying with my uncle’s fishing rod but I could not remember anymore if I caught one, for only the delightful experience remained in my heart.
Upon entering the place, I was amazed at the variety of plants that I had seen. There were many fruit trees and the place was well-surrounded with ornamental plants. Little did I know that at the back portion, there was a pond. At first, I only saw a bridge made of bamboo. But as I went closer to the area, I was mesmerized by the sight of the kaleidoscope pond.
I am not sure how old the fish were but it seemed it was already existing for a long time due to its appearance and the pond’s display as well. The bridge and its railways were made of bamboo tied with a wire. The path was cemented and under the bridge were many sprinklers and some aquatic plants. Surrounding the bridge and the pond are ferns and many rare and extraordinary plants. I am not sure about the names of the plants but they were all elegant and even added beauty to the place.
When I was at the bridge, I was observing the fish and they were happily swimming in the pond. I feel that the owners are taking care of them well since I see them as lively, enthusiastic, and healthy. The owner of this pond was an old woman who was so kind and generous. I had a quick conversation with her and she introduced something to me.
I have seen how eager fishes were when I went to the pond I felt that they wanted to be fed. I was so delighted watching them swim in groups. There were different colors and what amazed me was the huge fish with shades of yellow, red, and gold. I was looking for a pink fish though and I have seen one with a light carnation color.
Just as I was excited to see the fishes swim in different directions, I was eager to take selfies too. I got many shots while I was on the bridge with a pond full of fish. I stayed there for a moment and it felt so relaxing and refreshing to be on the bridge. And it was also a perfect day to stay there for a while since the Sun was up and it did not rain. Ah! It was another exciting experience and it made my day.
