A Scenic Walk around the Dam

in #hive-11984510 days ago

On a foggy morning, I decided to take a stroll around Walton Dam before heading out to do some shopping. There was a thick mist hanging in the air. As I walked along the path, I noticed several Canada Geese that appeared to be observing the no swimming signs posted around the dam! 😁

The pond looked quite eerie with the reflections from the trees in the water.
It was quite a spooky atmosphere.

The sun was trying to peep through the mist creating a yellow glow in the water.

Further up the footpath blue skies energed but not for long.

The heron always seems to appear when I least expect it, especially when I do not have my camera. Its long legs and elegant neck make it a striking sight as it stands still, waiting patiently for its next meal. The heron drew lots of attention from passers-by. The heron, on the other hand, seemed quite disinterested in them.

Further down, I entered a small wood. This year, the locals have decorated a tree with Christmas decorations, which looked really nice. It lights up at night, apparently.

'He knows when you are asleep'. I'm presuming they mean Santa Claus and not some serial killer. 😁

With the mist and the gloomy weather, it still gets dark quite early. Even though it was only a short walk, it was enough to blow the after Christmas cobwebs away.

The trees reflecting on the water are awesome due to the fog. Great captures, Ellen.

Thank you very much @sunscape. ❤️

You always take the best walks and capture the finest of scenes. I have my own similar "heron" experience too 😅

Thank you @stevenson7. Yes, it can be very frustrating at times. 😁

Wow! Beautiful sceneries and lovely photos. It’s so surreal. Foggy atmosphere is very attractive.

Yes, love it. 😊
