Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Music Zone Community. My name is Jasper and I'm writing (and singing) to you Cape Town in South Africa! Welcome to Week 3 of the Jamming Zone, a brand-new initiative by @juliopalomo!

In this initiative, we are supposed to be jamming and improvising.

Today, I would like to record the basic chorus structure of my song “God Cries in Thunder”, which is essentially an E-blues, and then try and improvise over that with some riffs based on the pentatonic scale!

On the topic, after I created a tutorial on some acoustic guitar fundamental tips (You can check that here: https://ecency.com/hive-193816/@jasperdick/nuarldjk ), the absolute shredder on electric guitar @sunsethunter was inspired to give a tutorial on the basics of improvisation and guitar solos that you can use to inspire you and get started here on your jamming journey here: (https://ecency.com/hive-193816/@sunsethunter/fwzntdgj#@sunsethunter/sazxgl)!

I think I will be going back to that video to help me think about being more fluid and musical in my improvisation – I usually play alone and never get to practice, but now that I own a loop pedal I should bother to find the time to set it up and create little loops to practise over as I did in this video!

As for the song, God Cries in Thunder, here’s a post where I played the song in full: https://ecency.com/hive-105786/@jasperdick/gdghfbxw

Wow this is awesome man. I love how you record the background sound and beat. I wish I'll also have this type of equipment soon.
Nice one man, your video is amazing once again.
