We are in Week 120, Round 3 of the Hive Music Festival, and it is a privilege for me to be a participant. For this round, I will be singing a cover of the song "Jehovah Is Your Name" by Ntokozo Mbambo. I truly admire the way this minstrel sings most of the songs I’ve listened to from her and her team are beautifully arranged with modulations that enhance their depth. This unique style is what drew me to her music, and ever since, I have been an avid listener.
At first, I wasn’t sure which song to sing. While working in the office, I kept thinking about what to present. I had my computer with me, so I decided to open YouTube, where I found a list of gospel songs arranged in a playlist. As I played through the songs, this particular song started playing, and I was drawn to it. I played it repeatedly, and as I listened, I found myself thanking God for both the battles I am aware of and the ones I am not. I began singing along, and at that moment, I knew this is the song I will sing.
This song beautifully describes who God is, a mighty warrior, great in battle. No battle is too big for Him. As humans, we sometimes feel that certain battles are too hard for God to fight, but I am here to remind us that what is impossible for man is possible with God.
Everyone faces different battles, yours might be in your marriage, family, job, health, finances, or even emotional struggles like depression. Sometimes, these battles seem overwhelming, and we may feel like there’s no way out. But I am here to tell you that there is One who is able and capable of winning any battle effortlessly. He doesn’t need to think twice before securing victory. All that is required of us is to surrender everything to Him, and He has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us.
I encourage everyone to surrender their battles to Jesus Christ. Cast all your burdens upon Him, and He will carry them for you.
