Hello, community, it is the first time that I participate in this Festival and I do it with an original song entitled “Solo” (Alone)
I composed this song… walking. I was going to work and it was a 40 minute walk. During that walk, a man who walked alone caught my attention... and thinking about what would his story be? What would his past be? What are his expectations for the future? I thought that individual loneliness has nothing to do with the number of people around us. There was born that part where the song says "the river overflows with people..."
Then… really, I made a story in my head, a story I wanted to write and it didn't turn out well as such but I did like how the song turned out and I hope you like it too.
If you have the patience to read a synopsis of the story, it is about a bohemian painter who falls madly in love with his model. She (like the Little Prince's rose) allows herself to be loved but remains internally distant from him. She has the opportunity to take on a highly paid job and does not tell him, she simply disappears without a trace. Her cell phone she throws it into the river from a bridge before leaving to make a complete break with her past.
He waits for her, calls her, looks for her and… he ends up losing his mind. He walks alone writing her name on the walls followed by the phrase "...I call you and you don't answer" In his deranged mind he is convinced that at some point she will see one of his writings and return to his side.
In the avenues full of people, in that river of asphalt overflowing with people… he goes alone.
.
His life is dark, it doesn't matter if the sun shines, if the moon shines, if the stars twinkle, he dreams of seeing her face shine among so many anonymous, street faces.
He walks alone and talks to himself... repeating her name... as if it were a mantra.
He pays no attention to anyone and no one pays attention to him. The day he ceases to exist, will someone remember him?
I thank professor @gaborockstar who recorded the video for me and to @hermaryrc too in whose house I was able to publish it.
I share my music with you from Villa de Cura, Aragua state, Venezuela
