Well I just finished making Canna Oil and am not even tired even though its 1.50am
My first Mexican batch!
I had as usual lots of dust and bits in the bottom of not only one, but two bags of weed, and new that soon it would be time to make up some oil.
I actually ordered a thermometer, I've never used one before even whilst making soap or booze, and I was exited when it arrived in the post today, it will be used a lot in the future.
As usual I pick out the microbuds worth smoking as I have nothing else to smoke, seems to be like that when making hash or oils hahah
Decarbing
Weed doesnt actually contain Thc or Cbd, on the contary to what everyone thinks. And no, I havent lost my mind its true! Weed contains THCA and CBDA which once heated, turns into THC and CBD!
Raw weed
When you smoke a joint or vape, just before it goes into your mouth it is decarbed by the heat which makes it active as you inhale. If you want to make butter or oils etc then you need to put the weed in the oven for 25mins at 255F.
Decarbed Weed
Your weed should go light brown and smell like its been in a vapouriser, and then its ready to use.
I had 70g of powder and dust, small buds and some seeds, and after decarbing it was more like 55g
I preheated the oven to the lowest setting and after a good 20 minutes I put the weed that was on the glass tray into the oven.
After 30 mins I took it out of the oven
..and went to borrow and set up the elctric hob, which is much more suitable than a gas hob for heating the oil and defusion. If you try it on a gas hob, your going to find it a struggle not to burn it.

The Oil
Cheapy olive oil from the supermarket cos Im quite broke right now haha.. I do have enough shake for half a liter oil to be made but I only got 250ml for this time and I saved the rest.

I heated up the oil to 180F - its best to get the oil to a good stable temp so that you dont rosk messing it up from the start and over heating. Once its at the right temp then add your decarbed weed.
25g plus a bit more of this stuff - normally its 10g of bud to 250ml of oil, but this wasnt bud so 25g plus would be OK.
I wanted to cook this for just under 3 hours. Having a thermometer is excellent!
After 2.5hours it was looking ready, dark in colour and smelling nice. I strained it out into a glass jar and the rest let to drip off into a mug.
The Final Product
I still have some dripper bottles from europe and 2 more that I recyled recently, so of course they have been topped up!
