This last week I have been pretty sick with the worst flu that I have had in a long time. I think this was combined with the drop in the temperatures to near 0° and turning my heating off to allow some plastering to dry properly.
I also had some stress for a couple of weeks whilst some renovation work was being carried out and this can also affect your health in some ways. Anyhow, I am a bit of a natural health freak and love all the natural health remedies, maybe too much as at one point I had a whole cupboard full of them to cover any possible ailment that you may have! lol
However, I have calmed down abit now and still dabble in the natural arts, but am not so obsessed. As part of my previous research into alternatives to anti-biotics, I found 3 that I thought worked quite well. The first is Olive leaf extract which I have taken extensively in the past and I think provides some health benefits. The second is called Golden Seal, although I needed to take some high dosage to get some effects, but it also seemed to work, and the creams too.
Finally, I also found and bought some Oregano Oil from Athens, which is 100% pure atherisches oil. However, I didn't really test it until now as it is so pure it is like acid!
After getting ill, my wife suggest to take some and see if it helped as I have been in a pretty bad way the last few days and trying to work too to finish off and kickstart some new projects has been a struggle.
I decided on a small dosage of just 1 drop, heavily diluted with water, although you can see, the oil floats to the top, so it is still not easy to dilute it and consume it so safely.
After, allowing a small drop to fall in, I noticed that another one fell, so had to clear that out as I don't want to take too much. The biggest trouble with natural medicines, is knowing the right dosages as there is not easily good information about or you need to have a good natural health practicioner.
I got myself an extra glass of water to use as a chaser too, the oil is very potent. After my second day, I managed to sweat out alot of the illness as apparently the oil is good for killing bacterias and possible parasites.
I noticed it also made my stomach feel alot better and got rid of that desire to eat even when you are not hungry. The other thing I noticed earlier was that I often feel very fatigued, even though I shouldn't do really and this feeling was gone which has been pretty awesome. Even though I am still recovering today, I managed to get quite a few things IRL done!
Overall, I will continue to take the oil for a few more days until I am fully recovered and see how it progresses. However, I think I am really pleased with this little natural medicine gem that I have found and look forward to keeping it in my natural medicine cabinet.
