Trump has been attacked by President Biden predictably in a campaign advertisement aimed at his recent status as a felon.
Donald Trump was found guilty in a Federal Court of 34-charges of fraud involving "hush money" paid to a woman who he paid for sex. Sentencing for Trump has been set for 7/11/24 and shortly after this date the Republican Party will decide their candidate for the November race.
Never before has a former POTUS been convicted as a felon as the result of a criminal trial. Trump faced charges after the January 6th "insurrection" on Capitol Hill and has been the subject of inquiries before for business dealings.
Biden and Trump are set to square off on Janry 24th, and this campaign strategy of stressing the gravity of his status as a felon is expected. Polls have shown that Trump has been boosted in popularity among his supporters by the public trial. Many believe that this trial was orchestrated by the Biden adminstration but this is largely dismissed as conspiratorial. Hunter Biden's recent conviction on Federal fun charges was addressed in a passive-aggressive way by Trump's campaign who focused on the support of the Second Amendment, which gives citizens the right to bear arms.
Time will tell what the net gravity of Trump's conviction will be on the November election. I can see it helping him overall due to the general mistrust of the media and courts by many Americans overall. If Biden pushes too hard, the Trump campaign can call into account Hunter Biden's conviction and what that means for the Biden adminstration as a whole. What is your take?
