Do you like omelettes for breakfast? Actually, omelettes are not my favorite dish for breakfast. But, I also won't refuse to make an omelette at certain moments.
Today, after exercising, I looked at my garden to do daily routine maintenance such as watering and pruning some plants.
I saw my basil plants growing lush. As we know, basil grows very quickly and creates new branches after being harvested. In fact, we still have to cut them. If no pruning is done, the basil plants will produce flowers and the basil leaves will turn old and can no longer be consumed.
While doing routine watering on my plants, I thought about the breakfast I would make today using fresh basil.
In the end, I chose to make a basil omelette. That's because my husband also likes omelettes. I think this would be a good choice.
Omelettes also contain protein which is great as a post-workout breakfast for recovery and muscle building. Coincidentally, I was also after doing weight lifting activities. So, I thought this would be a great option to have a basil omelette.
Anyway, basil is also good for skin health and beauty with its anti-inflammatory properties. Also, regulates blood sugar levels and regulates cholesterol.
Apart from that, I like the type of basil in my country, because it has an after taste that creates a fresh fragrant sensation in the mouth like a combination of mint and lemon fragrance.
Usually, here basil is popularly eaten in the raw method with spicy side dishes. Like spicy chicken, fried rice, and more. In particular, I like to eat it raw with spicy fried chicken to reduce cholesterol content.
This time, I will make a basil omelette that I combine with cheese. If you don't like cheese, you can skip the cheese ingredients. Also, you can replace basil with another type of green leaves such as spinach or water spinach. Also, you can add tomato pieces.
THE INGREDIENTS
For 1 serving plate
- 2 eggs
- one handful of basil
- 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp of coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp of pepper powder
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- enough cheese to serve

THE RESULTS
Honestly, this combination works great. 😋😋😋 Cheese also makes the basil omelette dish more special.
But make sure to use unsalted cheese so that the results are not salty. If you don't have unsalted cheese, you can skip the salt.
I'm happy, I can use fresh basil from my garden for many variations of dishes in my kitchen. Of course, which is also beneficial for health. So, I hope you enjoy my presentation this time. Until next on my other kitchen stories.
