A simple and peaceful restaurant in the middle of the city with delicious food.
Hot days in Indonesia also make my head feel hot. I couldn't think of anything, plus I was on the road and feeling hot.
I had a late lunch time, also because I was stuck in traffic. I looked for the nearest restaurant in my traffic jam in the middle of Medan City. After considering several things, I also looked for a place to eat that I had never visited.
I focused on looking for a restaurant that I had never visited in Medan City, which was quite far from my house. That's because in this city there are lots of places to eat that I haven't visited at all. So, instead of visiting the same place, I think it would be a fun experience if I stopped at a different place to get a new experience.
PILASTRO, an indoor restaurant in the city center that offers tranquility. There is a fish pond which is enough to calm the mind. So, I chose this place after I looked at reviews from Google Maps.
Simple, clean, and elegant. I entered this restaurant and felt...., oh it felt refreshing, cold, when I felt the room with AC. Well, this is what I need.
This place is dominated by natural colors, with accessories made from wood. Also, green ornamental plants add a fresh impression inside the restaurant.
On the sides of the restaurant, large windows are used. Visitors can look at a beautiful fish pond that also offers tranquility.
I glance at the pool every now and then while I think about what to eat for lunch. Actually, before arriving at this restaurant, I was already thinking about my favorite meal to eat.
Salmon. Yeah, I heard this restaurant has good salmon on the menu. Salmon is a healthy menu but yeah pricey in my country. As soon as I get the chance to find a salmon menu, I will order that menu.
Grilled salmon with lemon butter sauce. Sounds good and mouthwatering menu when I saw it in the menu book list. I hope expectations don't kill me this time.
Grilled salmon with lemon butter sauce came to my table looking good. So far, with a luxurious appearance, and it has not disappointed me.
This time I also found a new experience. This restaurant uses microgreens for plating. I really appreciate this because microgreens are very healthy. This reminded me to plant my own microgreens at home later.
Apart from that, there are also pieces of green chilies for the top of the salmon which are arranged together with the microgreens. Yeah, Indonesian people just love spicy things. It is a decision that again deserves to be appreciated.
For garnishes, carrots and broccoli are also added which are cooked by boiling. Pretty healthy option :)
For the potatoes, ah, I forgot to ask to be served potato wedges. So, they serve potato chips. But I'm not complaining. It was just my fault for not asking in the first place. No problem.
The salmon itself tastes fresh and not overcooked. With lemon butter sauce the taste is even richer. But even with no sauce, the salmon tastes delicious with the spices that are absorbed into it.
I enjoyed my lunch while enjoying the beautiful and peaceful fish pond. Luckily, I came to the right place. Also with expectations that don't kill me. The food here feels right. :)
Meanwhile, for a refreshing drink, I choose carrot juice with separate sugar. It can be the last treat after lunch while enjoying the surrounding restaurant.
Will I come back again? That's for sure if I travel to this city again. Even though it's pricey, it's worth the self-reward and improves my mood again. Maybe next time I will try another menu that will broaden my culinary knowledge as well. :) See you at my next food experience, foodies!
