Good day, everyone. I hope you are all doing well. Today, my boss asked me to make dinner all by myself.
To tell you guys, if there's one thing that I don't like to do, it's cooking. Cooking is not my passion. It all started when I was a child. My country's unripe papaya was considered a vegetable. Since we grow a lot of papaya in our backyard, we often cook it for veggies. One time my father asked me to peel the skin of the papaya. I did as I was told, and after peeling the papaya, my hand became itchy. After that, whenever my father asked me to peel papaya or cook vegetables, I always made a lot of excuses. I would rather wash clothes or dishes than cook. I brought up the lack of passion in cooking until I grew up. Since I came here to work, I don't have a choice but to embrace cooking. I learned a few recipes from my lady boss since she's the one who always takes charge in cooking. I only help her, or I fry vegetables. Today, since she asked me to cook for dinner, my mind races on what to prepare. I think of cooking chicken wings. I will just put it in the oven and grill, but it's more complicated. I must marinate it with ginger juice, salt, minced garlic, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil.
My boss always eats it with chili sauce; this is the part I hate the most. I am making chili sauce that I need to pound at its finest using a stone pounder. Mix with sliced ginger and garlic. When I pound it, it often splashes on me. We know how hot chili is, and I often endure it for hours whenever it splashes on me.
They also partner it with lemon grass rice, so I make it. If I hate to make chili sauce, this one is the opposite. I like the smell of lemon grass and garlic fried together.
After washing, I always put the rice in a sieve to drain the remaining water and prevent the oil from splashing when I fry it with lemongrass and garlic. I put a bit of salt in it and put it in the rice cooker to cook. I fry the vegetables while waiting for the rice and chicken to be ready. I fry spinach or green amaranth with minced garlic and season it with salt, sugar, and soy sauce.
I boiled soup earlier also. They like to have soup for dinner. I make what they call ABC soup. Just a mix of pork bones or chicken bones, cut onion, sliced tomatoes, potato, and carrots. I also add some cabbage, celery, and green beans. You can add whatever veggie you want to suit your taste.
When all the foods are ready, I plate them to serve.
I gave each one a small bowl of soup, and dinner was ready.
That's all for today, guys. I hope everyone enjoys their dinner. See you around😁❤️.
