Brownies are the easiest to make and don’t need much ingredients, but mistakes can also be made.
Now we have three kinds of brownies, we have the fudgy brownies, chewy brownies and cakey brownies. Same ingredients are used for all, but what makes it different is the measurement unit of fat (butter) and flour, and mixing too
INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING BROWNIES
- 1 1/2 cups of all purpose flour
- 2 cups of sugar (granulated sugar or brown sugar)
- 3 cups of Butter
- 75% dark chocolate (non sweetened , you can use coco powder too)
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
- A pinch of salt to taste
- Preservative ( I use alcohol as a local preservestive taught to me by my mum)
- 3 eggs
Fudgy brownies: it has a rich, dense and much more deeper texture. To achieve this kind of texture, you need more butter than flour.
Cakey brownies: it has a more lighter, moist, airily texture and slightly fluffy. To achieve this, you need more flour than butter unlike fudgy brownies.
CHEWY Brownies: it has a more chewy texture around the edge, and a moist tender slightly gooey feel in the middle and it’s not as dense as fudgy brownies. To achieve this chewy Brownies must be slightly under baked.
TIPS TO ACHIEVE EACH TEXTURR
To achieve a fudgy or chewy texture of brownies, melt your butter instead of whipping it directly with sugar
Use brown sugar instead of granulated sugar for your chewy BrowniesToo many eggs will make your brownies hard and dry
Your brownies shouldn’t be more than 20minutes or it ends up dried( remember even after taking it out of the oven, it still bakes cause of the hotness of the pan)
3After mixing your wet and dry ingredients in separate bowls, you should always mix dry into your wet ingredients, so it can dissolve easily. (If you mix your wet into your dry, it becomes messy and lumpy).
PREPARATION
Preheat your oven at 350 degrees
Mix your wet ingredients seperately
Your eggs, your melted chocolate ( for fudgy or chewy brownies melt your butter and mix it with your wet ingredients)Add your sugar and butter mix ( mix them together till it feels fluffy and theres little appearance of sugar
In a seperate bowl, mix your all-purpose flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt
Now pour your dry ingredients which consist of flour, baking powder and salt into your wet ingredient and mix ( if you want it to have a cakey texture, you would whip them together for a while)
Rub butter into your baking pan and add your brownie mix
Put your pan into the oven and bake for 20minutes
Bring out of the oven and let it cool off before cutting
After cutting, I added little sprinkles to make it look fancy
