Foodie On A Budget: My Version Of Pork Siomai Chao Fan

Hello Hivers! @baby.magic here, hoping everyone is doing fine today. In this post, I'm gonna share to you my own version of Chowking's Pork Siomai Chao Fan.

So let's get to it.

I woke up today craving for Chowking's Pork Siomai Chao Fan . But there's one tiny problem.

There isn't a Chowking in our town. The closest is like 2 hours from where I'm at. So I thought I'd just make my own version of it.

And this is what you need.

The Ingredients

4 cups of cooked rice
5 cloves of garlic
1/4 kilo of chorizo (sausages)
Cooking oil
Salt
3 pcs. Siomai

The Steps

First off, heat the pan.

And then put 1 glass of water and put the chorizo in the pan with water.

Let the water evaporate and then add a little cooking oil.

Let the sausage cook and when it's done crush the sausage.

The skin of the sausage looks like its burnt but it's not. I was waiting for it to cook but I got bored of waiting so I light a cigarette and when I went back to check, it changed its color to black. But it's not burnt. It's just black. So moving on.

After which, add the minced garlic.

Wait for it (this time) to turn to golden brown.(not black)

And then add the rice. Make sure that it's crushed. (This recipe requires a lot of crushing.)😁

Mix rice thoroughly. Add salt according to your taste.

After 5-7 minutes of mixing it should be cooked.

Put it in a bowl and then put the pork siomai on top.

And I present to you...

So it's that easy to prepare. And this makes 3 servings. All in all I spent 120 pesos($2.40), split it into 3 servings and it's just 40 pesos($0.80) per serving. If you bought this at Chowking it would cost around 99 pesos($2) so that's a 59 pesos savings.

If you're a foodie on a budget this recipe is perfect for you. So try it.
