Pizza "Hawai" with Courgette Dough

( EN / DE ) This time I tried something new and it actually turned out very tasty right away: A pizza, but instead flour, with a zucchini / egg dough.
Diesmal habe ich etwas neues ausprobiert und es ist tatsächlich gleich auf Anhieb sehr lecker gelungen: Eine Pizza, aber statt mit Mehl, mit einem Zucchini / Ei Teig.

For the dough: courgette, egg, ground almonds.
Pizza topping: Of course, as you like, in my case it was a homemade tomato sauce and "Hawai" with ham, cheese, pineapple (lots of pineapple).

Für den Teig: Zucchini, Ei, gemahlene Mandeln.
Pizza Belag: Natürlich wie ihr möchtet, in meinem Fall war es eine selbstgemachte Tomaten Sauce und "Hawai" mit Schinken, Käse, Ananas (viel Ananas)

Grate the courgettes into a cloth and salt lightly, wrap in the cloth until the salt takes effect. Whisk the egg with the ground almonds.
Die Zucchini in ein Tuch raspeln und leicht einsalzen, in das Tuch wickeln bis das Salz wirkt. Inzischen Ei mit gemahlenen Mandeln verquirreln.


Now squeeze the cloth firmly so that as much liquid as possible comes out and then add the courgette mixture to the egg mixture.
Nun das Tuch fest ausdrücken, dass soviel Flüssigkeit wie möglich heraus kommt und danach die Zucchini Masse zur Eimischung hinzufügen.

Mix the whole thing into a dough and spread it on a baking tray lined with baking paper, in whatever shape you want the pizza to be. I chose a round shape.
Das Ganze zu einem Teig verrühren und auf ein mit Backpapier belegtes Backblech verteilen, in welche Form auch immer ihr die Pizza haben wollt. Ich habe mich für eine runde Form entschieden.

The dough now goes into the oven at 220 degrees and in the meantime you can prepare the topping, just as you like it.
Der Teig kommt nun bei 220 Grad in den Backofen und inzwischen könnt ihr den Belag vorbereiten, ganz wie es euch gefällt.

Since we can't keep up with the tomatoes at the moment, I simply made a sauce myself from olive oil, onion, tomato, tomato paste and oregano and also prepared the rest of the ingredients: Ham, cheese, pineapple.
Da wir zurzeit mit der Tomaten (Paradeiser auf gut Österreichisch) nicht nachkommen habe ich einfach aus Olivenöl, Zwiebel, Tomate, Tomatenmark und Oregano eine Sauce selbst gemacht und auch schon die restlichen Zutaten bereit gestellt: Schinken, Käse, Ananas.

Now comes the "most difficult" part. This dough has to be turned after the 15 minutes baking time. I was glad that I had chosen a small round tin, it would have been more difficult with a whole baking tray.
Jetzt kommt der "schwierigste" Teil. Dieser Teig muss nämlich nach den 15 Minuten Backzeit gewendet werden. Ich war froh, dass ich eine kleine runde Form gewählt hatte, bei einem ganzen Backblech wäre es schwieriger geworden.

After turning, it is topped as with a normal pizza and then it goes back into the oven for another 10 minutes.
Nach dem Wenden wird wie bei einer normalen Pizza belegt und danach kommt es nochmal für 10 Minuten in den Backofen.

And the pizza is ready :-) as you can see, I love having lots of cheese and pineapple on it
Und schon ist die Pizza fertig :-) wie ihr seht liebe ich es, viel Käse und Ananas darauf zu haben.

I was very surprised, I didn't expect it to be so good, it even smelled like pizza. I also tried to eat a slice like a "real" pizza, but it was a bit soft in the middle. In any case, a very good alternative for all those who want to eat less flour and gluten. Or for those who have far too many courgettes in the garden!
Ich war sehr überrascht, so gut hätte ich es mir gar nicht vorgestellt, es hat sogar nach Pizza gerochen. Auch der Versuch, ein Stück wie eine "echte" Pizza zu essen ist gelungen, nur etwas weich in der MItte. Auf jeden Fall eine sehr gute Alternative für alle, die gerne mal weniger Mehl und Gluten essen wollen. Oder für jene, die gerade viel zu viele Zucchini im Garten haben!

Oh, this looks delicious and I will surely try to make it at home soon since I am trying to eat less flour. Especially white flour because of the sugar issue. Although I don't know if I'll make it Hawaiana because my husband doesn't like pizza with pineapple much. But my son loves it and it's one of his favorites hehe, so I'll make it this way when he comes at the end of the year for sure.
