Cooking with fruits is a pleasant experience because you can create recipes with different flavors, and some of them give a beautiful color to our dishes. Today I share with you my recipe for orange pork chops. It is a very simple recipe to make with few ingredients.
Pork chops are a meaty cut. They are usually prepared on the grill, a cooking method that gives them a smoky flavor. However, it is always good to vary.
When I prepare pork chops at home, my son doesn't like them very much as he is lazy and doesn't like to use a knife to cut the meat. Boy whims 😆. So today, I wanted to surprise him with some super soft chops that when in contact with the fork, could detach a juicy piece and enjoy them.
1 cup orange juice
1 small onion
1/2 red bell pepper
vegetable oil
salt, dried oregano
Cooking time: 1 hour
Yields 6 servings
Select pork chops that have little fat. Don`t remove the fat, as it will contribute to the texture and shine of the sauce that will be formed.
Place a little vegetable oil in a frying pan and spread it with a brush or absorbent paper to make an oily layer so that the chops can be browned.
Place the chops in the hot skillet and season with salt and dried oregano. Brown on both sides and set aside on a baking pan.
Squeeze oranges until you get a cup of juice.
Place the orange juice in the blender along with the onion, red bell pepper, and cornstarch. Blend everything well.
Pour the liquid from blending the vegetables with the orange juice over the previously browned chops.
Cover the tray with aluminum foil and bake in the oven at 180ºC for one hour.
After this time, uncover the pan and serve. As you can see, you can serve each portion with cole slaw. It is a salad that combines very well with the flavor of the orange sauce. You can reserve an orange and cut some slices to garnish and make your dish more attractive.
As you can see, it is enough to prick the chop with a fork for the meat to fall apart. These chops are very juicy thanks to the abundant sauce that forms. What I like most about the orange sauce are its color and brightness. It is magnificent and makes the food look very provocative.
Can this recipe be an option for Christmas Eve? Of course, it can! For those who like to make pork chops for Christmas, using pork chops is a good option in terms of price in addition, each portion is already portioned, allowing you to better distribute the portions among your guests.
