Hello, dear Hivers and to the Foodie Bee Hive! I'm Dan and this is my first time to post in this community. I'm excited to share another adventure with you. I hope everyone is having a wonderful day. Today, I want to take you on a journey through our recent food trip with my mom, @yzamazing, on the last day of her vacation here in our hometown, Guiuan.
We decided to make the most of her remaining time by going on a food trip, so in the afternoon, we took a quick 30-minute road trip to Calicoan Island. But before I tell you more about the snack house we visited, let's talk a bit more about Calicoan.
Calicoan Island is a one of the top rising tourist destinations in Guiuan. It is composed of approximately 7 kilometers of white sand beaches stretching from Dumrog to Sulangan. Calicoan is also dubbed as the surfing capital of Eastern Visayas, and is known for it’s famous Odyssey Waves, which is a must-visit for surfers and adventure seekers. Last year, Calicoan Surf Spot was even included as the second venue for the Philippine Surfing Competition, attracting numerous tourists and surfers to our hometown.
While I'm not particularly a fan of surfing, I do love swimming. Living in Guiuan, with its white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters. I just feel blessed to live in Guiuan, where we have white sand and clear waters, perfect for a swimming paradise.
Anyway, let's get back to our main event for today's foodie blog.
My mom and I went to Pizzanget, a pizza snack house located in Calicoan Island, just a few kilometers away from the surf camp. This was my first time visiting this snack house, and my mom told me that the owner is her high school classmate, Ate Nanette.
We ordered some burgers, fries, and soft drinks. My favorite was the fries. I loved how crispy they were compared to other places I've tried in Guiuan. The Ketchup Mayo dip was also a perfect match for the fries.
The ambiance of the place was nice, surrounded by lots of trees, making it cool and providing perfect shade from the hot weather. The place was simple, but I liked it. I also appreciated the prices on their menu; they were really budget-friendly.
The burgers only cost around 50 pesos, and they even had buy-one-get-one burgers and combo meals, which were a mix of everything at a very reasonable price.
Here is a sample of one of their Combo Meals. Some Korean Corndog, Hotdog Buns and lots of Fries.
It's too bad they didn't have fresh fruit shakes, but at least they had ice-cold soft drinks available and even offered free service water after we finished eating. We also visited Sulangan Church to offer some prayers, and before driving home, we stopped by the seashore to admire the view. On our way home, we even saw some monkeys crossing the road. It was amazing to see this wildlife in action.
That's all for our foodie adventure! By the way, you can check out Pizzanget on their Facebook page for additional updates and prices on the menu. Their store is located on Sulangan Road, Sapao, Sulangan, Philippines. If you ever visit Guiuan and plan to go on a food trip, be sure to visit Pizzanget!
Once again, this is @dandelion24. See you on my next blog!!
