Why should I have fun at the cost of an endangered animal's life?

Hi,

Some days ago, my friend Christina went on tour to Japan with her boss. Her boss owns a big business and is a rich person. He invited her for a dinner. She went there. It was a nice dinner in which a few people from her office had also come. It was a nicely arranged dinner party. They had lots of fun there. She was very excited about the party and described the events to me. But, there was something that made me sick.

In the party shark fin soup was served as well. It is completely legal to eat shark fin in some countries. But, I don't consider it good for this planet. Sharks are endangered animals which must be protected. People who have shark fin soup enjoy that soup for a few minutes, but the cost of those few minutes pleasure costs a shark its life. I have read somewhere that for shark fins, sharks are caught and their fins are cut and the remaining body is left in the oceans where sharks die painfully. Is this humanity? This is the act of satan. I am not a full vegetarian, but I like to eat those things occassionaly in my non-veg food which are in abundance and no cruelty have been inflicted upon the animals to kill them. To kill an endangered animal just for pleasure is very dangerous for the environment and our own existence. We should not have fun at the cost of an endangered animal's life. If I have to make choince to eat simple vegetarian food or a tasty food made from the body of an endangered animal, I'll prefere vegetarin food in which no precious life is taken.
