Hello my dear "Winers"
The bottle I'm bringing this week is another prize winner.
It won a golden medal in 2021's "Uva da Ouro", which translates to "Golden Grape";
And as I mentioned before, I love a good prize winning wine..
So here it is:
Firstly, Roboredo is the name of the family that has owned and managed it's vineyards since the 19th century. Located on the superior side of Douro they manage to take most profit of its schist soils.
Being from Douro, the grapes are known for us already:
- Touriga Nacional;
- Touriga Franca;
- Tinta Roriz;
It's ageing process took 9 months between new and seasoned french oak barrels
Appreciation:
I had a holy experience! Even such that I even got the "allegedly" better version!
On the mouth, the sensation was dense (in a velvety way), not because of the alcohol, but how rich the flavor was. Lingering finish.
On the nose, surprisingly fresh even with the oak "peaking" whenever it moved around.
In the eyes, very rubi!
As you should know by know I like to pair my wine with something to bite, this one I would suggest to a special romantic occasion since is very fitting.
See you next week!
