Sunday is always the day for rest and family gathering. Hence, I always look forward to Sunday, a great start of the day with awesome praise celebration at church, then followed by lunch with church mates and also a warm dinner with family.
Lunch at Mamalek!
The past Sunday was no far from greatness! We had great time at church although I needed to skip the beginning part due to tuition's replacement. Nevertheless, still a great time at church after I had done mu tuition.
During lunch time, I suddenly felt like eating beef noodle. I had not tried the one highly recommended by people, so we went there. It was a special lunch because my Pastor friend was joining us, usually she would join her husband, but since her husband was resting at home after a surgery, she was able to join us. We wanted to give her a lunch treat!
Mamalek is a small stall located at Prima Setapak food court, a fairly new venture runned by family. They are famous for their Thai beef noodle. It is known that they started boiling the beef broth from bones for hours, resulting in a big pot of natural flavour from beef and super gelatinous. I was really looking forward to it.
I took some pictures when the mother and daughter were busy teaming up to serve the lunch customers.
One got to choose what type of beef noodle you want. As well as the type of noodles.
Since it was my first time, I chose beef mix which was RM16, I thought it was a good choice for an everything-in-one-bowl. It had braised beef, fresh beef slices, tendon, tripe and beef balls.
And I chose smooth Thai rice noodles. Other noodle choices include kuey teow, beehoon and yellow mee. And rice too.
My Bowl of Beef Mix Noodle!
I was really blown away with the soup and the tender soft braised beef and beef slices. Glad that I chose the beef mix, I got to try all. Paired very well with coriander too.
I also oomph-ed up my bowl of beef noodle by adding some chilli oil, chilli sauce and fish oil. I skipped the chilli powder in case it was too spicy. Totally super delicious!!! One bowl like not enough for me, seriously. Haha
I thought of coming again next Sunday! 😜
I also packed seaweed pohpiah and usual pohpiah for snack at home.
Movie night at home and food from Kari Kepala Ikan
My nieces always bugged their father (my brother) to come my house. For whatever reason, they really love to hang out here, probably the different toys as well as they love their cousins very much. Haha. So we had planned a movie night, whereby my brother brought his harddisk (full of movies) to my house. They chose Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.
Halfway movie, I went out to buy dinner for them.
I bought for them a fried rice with turmeric chicken, fried rice with braised beef red sauce, a wrapped eggs with chicken and peas and 4 cheese mozzarella naan for all of them.
One nutella cheese naan to be shared as snack.
And for myself, I ordered white rice with beef red sauce and an omelette.
After dinner, they continued another movie while eating chips. These young children really enjoyed themselves to the maximum.
My niece drew this at my house.
Although a tiring weekend for me, it was definitely fruitful. I thank God for energy and strength to work, to serve others, and to bless other people in ways I can. Looking forward to another fruitful weekend.
