After visiting my grand Uncle and grand Aunty from my mother-in-law's side, we went to a nearby food court to have lunch, introduced by one of our Uncles. It is super huge, non-airconditioned, open-concept food court whereby one can find many stalls inside selling different types of food.
Medan Selera Maju Jaya
📍Location: PT NO 34840, Taman Perindustrian Puchong Utama, 47100 Puchong, Selangor.
Despite it being non-airconditioned, this food court is well-ventilated due to its high ceiling, and also with many huge fans as well as two huge portable fans on the floor. And there are so many stalls in this food court from rice to noodles to burgers and many other varieties.
After walking around all the stalls, these were what we ordered.
Duck Herbal Soup Noodle
I wanted to order duck thigh noodle herbal soup noodle but the lady boss said they ran out of duck thigh. So sad. So she said she could use usual duck cubes with reduced price for my bowl of noodle. What to do? I agreed. This I ordered from this stall called Penang Komtar Duck Soup. Apparently, it was from the famous Penang food. When the bowl of herbal noodles came, I could smell the fragrant of the herbal soup.
Took a sip and it was satisfying. A great high quality herbal soup which I knew was boiled for hours. The noodles I ordered was called 'mee suah' aka longevity noodle, so soft and nice texture for biting. Unfortunately, the duck cubes I received were basically bones and just little tiny bit of duck meat. I was actually craving for duck meat, but nah, never mind, another day then. Overall, I gave this 8/10. I drank the whole bowl of the herbal soup. Not a drip left. Lol.
Mutton soup
Husband ordered mutton soup from an Indian soup and we wow-ed at the texture of the mutton. Super duper soft meat.
Must had been cooked for hours till like it was almost dropping out of the bones. The soup was appetizingly delicious too, with hinge of Indian spices and of course chillies. A little too spicy to my liking but my husband loves it. I would give 9/10
Pork belly stew and duck rice
Husband also found this stall luring. We ended up there, ordering a plate of pork belly stew and hard-boiled eggs. Unsure of how the miscommunication happened, it ended up with a plate of pork belly stew, eggs, intestines and tofu. Overall, it was a decent dish.
From this stall, I also packed a duck rice for my youngest son to eat at home later. He was not hungry at all when we were eating here.
The duck rice looked abit dry and undertaste, however, a packet of duck sweet sauce was given to enhance the flavour. This set of duck rice was delicious too. Both pork belly stew and duck rice could be rated 8/10.
Pan Mee
Lastly, we waited for the plate of dry pan mee ordered by my eldest son. It took him one hour to wait for his noodles. When it finally arrived, we were glad that it was worth the wait. Apparently this was a super good deal to buy the mooncakes now. 9.5/10 for the pan mee.
It was yet another good time of catching up with related. The fact that everyone is getting older each other makes me want to spend more time with the elderly. Meanwhile, from my heart, I bless them long life to enjoy good life.
P/S: I was not satisfied with my duck meat during lunch and so for dinner, I ordered a duck rice for myself when family and I dined at a restaurant called Lucky Star. Duck meat cravings satisfied. Yayyy!
