Living in Indonesia is full of harmony, tolerance and eating together. Maybe those who don't live in Indonesia will find it strange, seeing how we interact so closely with neighbors, family and close friends. Gathering and eating together is something that is often done, because it is part of the tradition.
This tradition does not recognize religion, race, ethnicity and skin color. If you are an Indonesian citizen, you will be very familiar with this in villages and cities. Eating together and gathering is a place to stay in touch with each other. Likewise with the activities that I do today, preparing a banquet to eat together.
My mother is a very friendly neighbor, she participates in many groups such as wirid and social gatherings in various associations, yes, she is also a middle-aged woman who is looking for activities in various associations that can make her feel happy. Because, at the age of 60 this year, he felt very tired if he just stayed at home.
Then, a few days ago he said that he needed my wife's help to cook a big banquet at home. As the only daughter-in-law, she couldn't refuse the invitation, so my wife started preparing various ideas for menus that were simple and took a short time, but tasted delicious and were liked by many people.
My wife said she wanted to make fried vermicelli with lots of vegetables and accompanied by meatballs, I thought that was a good idea, because everyone likes this type of noodle. Moreover, this meal will be made in take away packaging, for each community member to take home, so there is no need to bother making lots of condiments in one meal box.
First, my wife didn't even let me into the kitchen when she was cooking, until sometime she need me to help her cook with a very large cauldron. I think she have a lot of muscle to do it alone, you know that she is making great progress toward weight lifting, you must often see her posting on the actifit app.
Woman is woman, she really like to show her weakness in front of me, even though I'm pretty sure she can cook 5kg of vermicelli in one cauldron. But it turn out to be wrong, ended up call me even though I busy taking care of my work. I feel very needed, give that my wife like the love language of 'act of service' and I am so feel very happy for that.
There are several ingredients that he has prepared to cook meatball and veggie fried vermicelli, you can see that there are a lot of vermicelli that have been soaked for 4 hours, then some vegetables that have been washed clean, 2 kilograms of meatballs that have been cut into 4 parts, a secret spice recipe that has been prepared. my wife concocted it (she said it was made from garlic, shallots, oyster sauce, soy sauce, red chili). He prepared it last night until he was sleepy.
Not only meatballs and veggie (there are several veggie such as mustard greens, leeks, celery, carrots and sprouts) this recipe also adds some eggs to get a fatty taste and high protein. The egg is the main component that influences the taste of this fried vermicelli. But, you can make it without the meatballs and eggs to make the vermicelli edible for vegans.
Beside previously my wife say, making this food it was very simple, but it turn out that it was only in her mind, in fact to prepare all of this, she work more than 6 hours. But, I saw that she was very happy to make this food, that she is very lucky to be able to make people happy with good food.
I help her stir the food over this large cauldron, still she made all the recipe and put them in the cauldron. I stirred in batch, which ended up cooking a large batch, about 5 large cauldrons. It turns out that 5kg of vermicelli is a lot, because the vermicelli must be soaked in water, so that the weight increases as it is absorbed into the vermicelli.
